Overall, Buvette Nicole comes across as a warm, intimate French bistro in Old Montreal with a welcoming atmosphere, chic yet cozy decor, and a team that is consistently described as friendly, attentive, and helpful. The menu earns praise for comforting French classics and standout dishes such as fondue, beef bourguignon, duck, gnocchi, and tartare, complemented by well crafted cocktails and thoughtful wine pairings, with brunch and happy hour also receiving high marks. Service is frequently highlighted as fast and personable, though a few visits note occasional slow pacing during busy times and occasional missteps that affected the flow of the meal. The value is a point of contention for some, with several diners calling prices steep or portions variable, yet many reviewers regard the quality and presentation as exemplary. Most reviewers intend to return, describing the place as a gem, a spot to linger with friends or family, and a destination that captures the spirit of a neighborhood French bistro in Montreal.
Wow vraiment a essayé! Les plats sont délicieux & avec de bonne portion. J'ai adoré le magret de canard je recommande. Aussi, très bon service de l'équipe.
Just had the best French food at Nicole!. We stayed at St. Paul hotel & happened to pass this restaurant everyday during our trip in Montreal. We decided to go there for our last dinner in Montreal. It was incredible. I had what they called "winter chicken". Chicken was well seasoned & based sauce was amazing. They are such a hidden gem in the areas. Please please please give them a try. There is not many people talk about them on social media. But you will have a great time there. Great service. They were fast, fun, & very friendly. One little comment, I was gonna ordered their steak but I looked at our neighbors & it didn't look like a lots going on there. They wish they could more to that dish, so it will gain more attention to it. Full reviews will be post on instagram @nycthaiguyfoodie

This cute cafe is such a hidden gem! The gnocchi was incredible & so full of flavor, I really enjoyed their latte as well. I loved the whole vibe of the place & the service was fast, friendly, & super attentive. Highly recommend checking it out.
Enjoyed a NYE dinner here with a great friend. We enjoyed an appetizer 2 cocktails wine & two flank steak frites with roasted Brussels sprouts. The steak was very tough, & the au jus was salty, but otherwise the evening was superb. The waiter, Callum was great. The best experience dining we had in MTL this weekend.
We were here earlier this week following. a recommendation from a friend. We had a very good French Onion soup & beef tartare as appetizers. Then we had the bouillabaisse -- outstanding!! -- & the duck, which was very good also. Service was delightful & place was charming. Definitely we will return next time we're in Montreal!

Callum was excellent, his recommendations, charisma & service were top notch. He made us feel as if we were his only table in a packed NYE dinner service.
Top notch food, service & ambience. A little pricey but they do make it up with their portion size & quality of food. Extremely helpful waiters & good alcohol & cocktail collection.
We stopped in for a middle of the afternoon lunch & were warmly greeted by the bartender Adam, who was our server. He was great & the food was delicious! I had the bourguignon which was tender & decadent , a great dish!

Delicious & such wonderful service. We had dinner there on a Friday night without a reservation. They were able to seat us without issue even though it was a fairly full & lively dining room. My husband had the duck & it was perfectly cooked. I had the gnocchi & it was delicious & perfect for a cold night. The server was particularly wonderful & offered great recommendations for the area for the rest of our stay highly recommend.
We had a lovely time sitting at the bar & chatting with the very friendly staff! Drinks were lovely & the jam on the charcuterie board was out of this world! We will be back on our next visit to Montreal!
Sat at the bar between two older men (one is a regular at this place) & had the best time. The servers, guests & kitchen all enjoy being there & it shows. Amazing steak & wine too!
We tired the Mtlatable menu. The beef tartare was so chewy & fatty. expected a better quality from a French restaurant. the steak was good but not close to the best one I've had.
