Overall, Buvette Nicole comes across as a warm, intimate French bistro in Old Montreal with a welcoming atmosphere, chic yet cozy decor, and a team that is consistently described as friendly, attentive, and helpful. The menu earns praise for comforting French classics and standout dishes such as fondue, beef bourguignon, duck, gnocchi, and tartare, complemented by well crafted cocktails and thoughtful wine pairings, with brunch and happy hour also receiving high marks. Service is frequently highlighted as fast and personable, though a few visits note occasional slow pacing during busy times and occasional missteps that affected the flow of the meal. The value is a point of contention for some, with several diners calling prices steep or portions variable, yet many reviewers regard the quality and presentation as exemplary. Most reviewers intend to return, describing the place as a gem, a spot to linger with friends or family, and a destination that captures the spirit of a neighborhood French bistro in Montreal.
My wife & I were looking at the menu outside, when Andrew, our soon to be host & waiter pulled us in with his smile & friendly nature. After giving us recommendations we finally ordered. The food was excellent (especially the deconstructed cheesecake) however, what truly made the experience unforgettable was Andrew, who delivered AAA service, something I genuinely haven't experienced since before COVID. He was attentive without being overbearing, genuinely friendly, effortlessly funny, & clearly passionate about what he does. He knew the menu like the back of his hand, offered thoughtful recommendations, & made us feel like we were the most important table in the room. Andrew turned a great meal into an outstanding dining experience. It's rare these days to find service that feels this personal & this polished at the same time. We'll definitely be back.

Oh boy. Dommage !!!
Definitely reccommend this place if you are looking for good food, good drinks & good vibes!! The manager Steve made us feel at home & we couldn't be happier with our experience! We've already been back & plan on coming back again & again

We were a party of 4 adults & 3 kids & had an excellent experience there. The food was extra ordinary. Had the best Gnocchi ever. The portion size was great.
The staff were super friendly. They were interacting with all the customers.
We got a lot of information about the region & specifically about Moose🫎, which was really great.
It was raining cats & dogs & the staff were willing to come with us to our car park with umbrella.
Enjoyed our afternoon there. Highly recommend the place.
Adam made a fantastic cocktail, the basil bourbon & orange! A must try!
& Callum was an excellent & attentive. Food was 4/5 stars (chicken was slightly salty for me). overall, highly recommend.
Went for brunch & had a great time. Food was excellent, service was friendly & efficient. The spot's well located in the Old Port with a warm, inviting vibe. Solid experience all around

Only enjoyed Happy Hour. (3 times lol) Best service we had in Montreal, & we had great service a lot. Had 3 separate bartenders & all were so happy, cheerful, & friendly. From what I can tell, they have Brunch & Happy Hour daily.
Very beautiful atmosphere...chic & comfy, warm & inviting.
10/10 coffee. Ordered flat white & coffee was soo smooth & delicious, definitely coffee arabica. Poutine was 10/10 too. Beautiful spot to people watch & enjoy a good meal & coffee
We stumbled upon this place & are so happy we did. Andrew was tremendous. Great service, great food. Would highly recommend. It was just him & the bartender in a packed place, & it was still great service. Loved the whole experience.

Dropped in at this lovely French restaurant on a whim! The food is absolutely incredible! I had the beef skewers with chimichurri which were charcoal grilled & super tender. The chimichurri was also well balanced & paired so well with the beef. I also had the salmon with beurre blanc, also insanely good!
