Brutopia spans three floors, and on each floor is a bar. This Crescent Street brewpub offers both familiar and exotic ales, but specialize in full-flavoured English ales: Nutbrown, Raspberry, Extra Blonde, Honey Beer, Porter, Blackout Stout, as well as its unique India Pale Ale.
Brutopia is described as a cozy, small brewpub in Montreal with a strong craft beer lineup and a welcoming neighborhood vibe, offering exclusive beers and a variety of drafts that keep beer lovers coming back; live music on Sundays and regular events like trivia and open mic add to the lively atmosphere, while the menu pairs solid pub fare with generous portions such as burgers, fries, poutine, nachos and other shareable bites. Reviews note friendly and attentive staff and good service most of the time, though a few visits mention slower or inconsistent service. The space can fill up since it is small but welcoming, and it remains a go to spot for meeting friends over pints. Although beers are often praised for quality, some comments mention prices as a tad high for Quebec; overall, the combination of strong beer, casual food and events positions Brutopia as a standout option on Crescent with a warm vibe and dependable crowd. Some patrons highlight the sense of community and the ability to catch live performances or a game, while others note scheduling hiccups with bands from time to time. Overall, Brutopia feels like a staple microbrewery that blends good beer, approachable food and a lively, casual scene.
Still going strong! It's been about 15 years since I visited & they still have some of the same good beers & a great vibe for meeting friends to chat over a few pints. The service was excellent, friendly & attentive. Definitely happy to see them holding their own with good craft beer.
So fun everytime! I've been a regular here for a while for casual hang outs & weekly trivia & every single member of the staff is so nice, the prices are good & the beer is great. Trivia is fun, fast paced & I love that everyday of the week there's a new event.
Absolutely fantastic Monday night! Great food, cool waitress & a group of young people who invited me to be a part of their trivia team. The beer is great! I'll be back when in town.
Beers a tad expensive especially in Quebec but it's a microbrewery so it's to be expected, beer was super good nothing special but also a lot better than other breweries, Cubanon sandwich is perfect it's one of my favourite sandwiches of all time & they don't disappoint here
Do bands ever play here? Website advertises bands at 10pm. Waited & waited & waited. Bands setup, & then just sit & chat to themselves with no sign of playing. Who knows if they ever actually play. Perhaps at 12pm? Go to one of many other venues where bands actually perform on time.
