Review Summary

Brûlerie Urbaine stands out in Montreal for its warm, convivial atmosphere and a standout coffee program, with beverages described as rich, well balanced and crafted with care, and a service team noted for friendliness and attentiveness. The space is praised as comfortable for working, meeting friends, or enjoying a solid breakfast or brunch, with generous portions, a range of menu options including gluten free and vegetarian twists, and a charming decor that many find appealing. While many visits are marked by excellent experiences, occasional drawbacks appear: a busy roastery can create noise and disruption, some orders arrive later than expected or with inconsistencies such as chai latte being too watery or pastry not fresh, and a few critiques mention slow service, cold elements, or a need for a revamp. Overall Brûlerie Urbaine is described as a reliable, worthwhile stop with great coffee, pleasant staff, and a welcoming vibe, often recommended and likely to bring guests back.

Cold hot chocolate? Food was fine

This used to be one of my favorite places because it was kid-friendly & the food is great (the smoked meat poutine is amazing). I often came with friends, alone, or with my kids because they even have a small play area.

Unfortunately, one employee completely ruined that experience.

I came with my two boys, who were quietly playing, & ordered a hot chocolate. A woman (not sure if she's the owner or staff) started giving me extremely rude looks simply because I only ordered that. She even made comments about it to the cashier - just loud enough for me to hear. (The persons taking your order are always nice & polite, this is not against them)

She then started'cleaning' already clean tables around me while staring at me in a very hostile way. It made me so uncomfortable that I didn't even finish my drink & left.

Very disappointing. It only takes one person to make a place feel completely unwelcome.

If customers with kids are expected to order more than just a drink to use the play area, that should be clearly stated.

So sad, because this used to be one of my favorite places.

Usually both the food & service are good however, recently I tried the dark chocolate crepe & it was disappointing there was barely any chocolate on it even when asking for some extra I still would recommend the place but would not recommend the dark chocolate crepe
