Brit & Chips is located in the Heart of Old Montreal, it’s goal is to capture the best aspects of a traditional chippy and add some of the local flavour and style that Montreal, and Old Montreal specifically, are known for.
Reviews consistently praise Brit & Chips as one of the best fish and chips in Montreal, with cod or other fish battered light and crispy, tender inside, and generous hand cut fries; the tartar sauce, mushy peas, and even gluten free batter get frequent nods, along with impressive sides like apple fritters, calamari, and curry sauces; service is described as friendly, quick and bilingual in a cozy or small setting, though it can get crowded and seating may be limited; some comments mention minor flaws such as occasional oil greasiness or variable portions, but overall the dining experience is seen as authentic, comforting and worth a repeat visit, including for takeout or a casual meal after a day of exploring Old Montreal.
The place is very nice, the woman worked their was so nice & patient with us. The food is amazing! Everything we ordered was so good! Very recommended.
Fish & chip is one of my personnal favorite meal, & Brit & Chips definitly make the best in town! You have to try the maple syrup haddock, it doesn't taste sweet, but it has a very rich flavor! I also recommend the popcorn tandoori shrimps as a starter, absolutly delicious ! Over the summer they have a very cute terrace a few steps away from the heart of the Old Port. As for dessert, their deep fried oreos & apple doughnut are to die for !
Fish was good, portion size is large, or at least I didn't get to finish my plate. Scott eggs & the dip/sauce it came on the side was delicious, even had some IRN Bru that I miss since my last visit in the UK. The staff is nice & the atmosphere is cute, but limited space, I'd recommend going if you're less than 4.
This little hidden gem is amazing. The service was excelent & the food was delicious. I strongly recommend the apple fritters as they are truely a little piece of heaven.
Service was excellent, atmosphere was cute (although not recommended for groups larger than 4), & the food was okay. The cod was a bit dry, the fried skin seemed a tad overcooked in a few spots as well, & it didn't taste seasoned. However, the tarter sauce & garlic mayo was good. You get a huge portion of fries. Id recommend sharing the fish & chips (add 1 extra piece of fish) between two people rather than getting 2 different orders. If you're not starving, 1 order without an additional piece may even be enough.

Super bon fish & chips ! On est pas au niveau de ce que l'on peut trouver à Londres mais il n'en reste pas moins super bon ! J'adore leur poisson du moins ! C'est une suprise à chaque fois ! Je recommande !
Very nice fish & chip spot, lots of different type of fish & batter. The tartare sauce is also great! The prices are affordable, i've been many times & I recommend
You can't get much better than this! Awesome food & gigantic portions. The haddock (aiglefin) is even better than the cod (which is also pretty good), so that's my recommendation. Also, a special shoutout for the amazing tartare sauce! The space is a little small but usually there are some available seats. I recommend eating on-site since the fish lose a lot of its crispness if you order to-go.
Juste trop trop bon je me suis régalé pour preuve j’ai englouti rapidement mon plat « trop rapidement d’ailleurs » fish & chips « saumon » un régal, service rapide & serveuse agréable. Je recommande
