Review Summary

Reviews paint Brew Lab as a cozy, high energy café tucked inside a barbershop, with comfortable seating, inviting warmth from the moment of entry, and a vibe that blends artisanal coffee with local art. The coffee is consistently praised for freshness and depth, with a range of drinks including lattes, cortados, Mango Affogato, Cocowater Matcha, and Freddo Cappuccino, plus in house pastries like croissants and other fresh desserts. Staff are described as friendly and knowledgeable, delivering attentive service in a welcoming atmosphere. A key highlight is the café's commitment to community, featuring a monthly spotlight on a local artist with art available for purchase and no commission, along with pop ups, dog friendly policies, and space rental for events. The location in Montreal and Westmount is noted as a standout, with many calling it the best coffee shop around and a must visit that offers a calm, peaceful, inviting experience perfect for work, catching up, or savoring a quiet moment. Overall Brew Lab is seen as more than a café; it is a lively neighborhood hub where great coffee, art, and community energy come together.

What can I say! Montreal has many great coffee shops but THIS ONE stands out. It shows that the owner (Chris) takes pride in the quality of his coffee to maintain freshness & deliver a perfect cup everytime. It's by the best coffee shop on the block & in the city! this place has energy from the moment you walk in! do not sleep on this place you WILL NOT be disappointed.

From the moment I walked in, I felt an instant sense of comfort & warmth. This coffee shop isn't just a place to grab a drink it's an experience. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, & full of little details that make you want to slow down & stay a while.

The staff are genuinely kind & welcoming, & you can feel how much love they put into what they do. My coffee was absolutely perfect! Rich, smooth, & clearly made with care. Every sip felt like a small moment of happiness.

What really stood out to me was the overall vibe: peaceful, friendly, & full of positive energy. Whether you're coming in to work, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy some quiet time to yourself, this place makes you feel right at home.

I'll definitely be coming back again & again. This little café has truly won my heart 🤍☕

I stopped by Brew Lab this summer as a plus one for my foodie friend Sarah's collab, & I genuinely didn't expect to stumble upon such a special little café tucked inside a barbershop.

There's no big sign outside & nothing flashy. Just really good drinks, warm energy, & local art everywhere you look. It feels intentional & welcoming in that easy summer way, the kind of place you wander into & end up staying longer than planned.

I tried a few drinks & each one stood out. The Mango Affogato was tropical & creamy & felt especially perfect for a hot day. The Cocowater Matcha had real coconut slivers & was super refreshing, & the Freddo Cappuccino was bold & strong without being overwhelming. They use Italian beans roasted here in Québec, & you can taste the care that goes into everything.

One fun summer detail is their $3 affogato special on Wednesdays, with rotating gelato flavors. It's an easy midweek stop if you're nearby & craving something cold & comforting.

What really makes Brew Lab special, though, is the energy. They spotlight a new local artist every month, the art is available for purchase, & they don't take any commission. They also host community pop ups, welcome dogs, & rent out the space for events, which makes it feel deeply rooted in the neighborhood.

The barbershop has been around for a couple of years, & the café launched more recently, but even during my summer visit, it already felt like a local favorite in the making.

I'm just a foodie who loves trying new spots & sharing my experiences. If you enjoy discovering places like this, come hang out with me on TikTok @foxy.appetite & IG @foxyappetite 💛
