via LibroWhen it came time to pay for the meal, we were informed that we would not be able to keep the balance on our gift card (we were told that we would have to use the entire $100 gift card to pay for the $29.89 meal without being able to use the balance for a future visit nor having the option to be reimbursed the difference).

via LibroA bit disappointed, one the key items (pappardelle al ragu) that my kids wanted to taste was sold out at 8 pm. This is a regular item in the menu & not a special meal, noy normal. I liked the ambiance & the young waitress was very nice & polite. I probably had big expectations & I'm sure this place could do better. I'll try it again another time & see how it goes.
Definitely overpriced for the quantity of food you get. The flavours were ok too, nothing out of this world. The focaccia was dry. The buratta came with approx 5 tiny cherry tomatoes for 24$! Gnocchi was average. Decor & ambiance were nice but music got so loud we couldn't hear each other talking.

via LibroFor our second dinner at Blandino's we sampled a bit more widely than our first visit. The dinner menu is small but interesting. There is something for most tastes. The quality of the pastas was outstanding in contrast to the secondi which was less impressive. Service was friendly, attentive & not at all oppressive although the lead waiter's suggestion to my wife that she add truffles to her wild mushroom penne without telling her that it added $25 to the price of her dish smacked a bit of upselling. Dessert was memorable & the espresso very authentic. This restaurant is large & music is loud so it is not the place for a quiet or intimate evening. I do feel that despite great food & great service it is not great value. Not all of us had three courses & only two had wine yet our tab averaged $80 per capita before the tip. For a meal where three of the four main dishes were pasta, the bill seemed excessive.

I've had a great experience at blandino but my recent one was not the same. The waiter got my order wrong & forgot to order one of the appetizers we requested. He also came to often to retrieve our plates I know we were the last reservation but he could have waited for us to finish our meals. Also one of my friends meals was Undercooked. Hopefully the next experience is better.
