La Boqueria is a tapas bar in Old Montreal where warm atmosphere and Mediterranean authenticity meet. From fresh seafood to Iberian cold meats and paellas, Boqueria will take you on a journey with every bite.
Boqueria comes across as a lively Spanish spot with a warm, stylish interior and a bright terrace that creates a festive mood; the cuisine is praised for fresh seafood, tapas, croquettes, and paella with flavors that feel authentic, and cocktails and sangria are frequently highlighted as well; service is described as attentive and friendly by many, contributing to a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, though a few visits note menu items being unavailable and pacing that can be slower at peak times; overall the impression is of a vibrant, flavorful dining experience in the old port with good value and a memorable sense of hospitality.
The food at la Boqueria is better than many 5 star restaurants in madrid, Barcelona & Valencia. We were so surprised at the quality, preparation & presentation. The place is still going through growing pains when it comes to service & logistics but if they keep their quality of food, you'll need to reserve weeks in advance to land a spot. I wish them the very best & recommend them fully.
Great tapas restaurant, the experiece & ambiance was charming & the music was great. We enjoyed trying a little of everything on the menu & our pallets were amazed by some of the fusion.

La paella est un régal, la sangria aussi. Les enfants ont aimé les croquettes, les calamars, & ... les churros. Une belle salle & une belle terrasse joliment décorées. Ambiance sympathique.
We gave it a try last evening for a late bite. Just returning from our Spain vacation, the bar was high. The food was reminiscent of our trip. Love the octopus. we had great service. We'll definitely go back
Honnêtement je ne laisse pas beaucoup de review mais ce duo Kazuki & Domenico! Honnêtement, les meilleurs qu'on aurait espéré ! Shout out au personelle de la cuisine & les serveurs! Ggs only!

On y retournera certainement!
The pluses: the service was good, the restaurant had nice decor, the croquettes were delicious, the location was central in Old Montreal. The minuses: the paella was way too salty, the charcuterie platter was overpriced for the amount of food, the inside chairs were uncomfortable to lean back in.
Unexpected beautiful terrace & well designed inside out. having great time with freshly & tasty food. Seafood cooked perfectly, every was delightful. Paella was less interesting:to salty dry rice over cooked. Small bites of Seafood were so good! our favorite of that plate Simple menu allowed to be the best. great place to eat tapas. Definitely I recommend & will be back.

We came for a later meal at 9, & despite that their website says they close at 12, & we asked to pace our dishes as per traditional tapas they rushed & dumped all the plates of food onto our table. There were very few clients there, but we later noticed that the predominantly male staff were flirting with 2 girls inside at the bar instead of tending to their other clients. The food was otherwise relatively tasty although they ran out of multiple ingredients & gave us lesser substitutions at the same price. The most shocking however was paying 36$ for 6 very thin pieces of cheese & a smear of goat cheese with 4 tiny drops of fig spread... that was clearly a total rip off given we've eaten at multiple spanish tapas restaurants in the city as well as even knowing prices of very well filled cheese plates offered in the old port. Spare yourself & go somewhere else.
Ambiance à terrasse avec vue sur la promenade du fleuve cependant le plat Poulpe était bien trop salé 🥵 Nous avons eu quand même un geste commercial de la part de la serveuse qui était super gentille. Merci Gaelle
The place is nice with great vibes, but the food honestly is very average. They serve the food with a lot of olive oil which alter the taste of the food. The shrimp comes with their shell which is a headache for the customer to take off. The sangria is very good, it's the only thing I loved about the place beside the ambiance. It's also over price for what it is, 80$ for a full pichet 🙄🙄 the oyster come with a icy grapefruit topping , not a vinegar & onion based sauce.. it's taste straight out the ocean lol 🫤
