We went to Boqueria in the summer & had a wonderful experience. The terrace was great, & the food was genuinely delicious. We ordered gambas al ajillo, anchovies, & paella, & everything was on point.
That's why I was so surprised & disappointed when I brought friends back last night (we were 6).
The ambience & interior design are beautiful-boho, Mediterranean style-& the background music was a fantastic selection. I didn't drink, but my friends really enjoyed the cocktails.
The food was honestly terrible, & it felt like a completely different restaurant compared to the summer.The gambas al ajillo had nothing to do with what we had before. The patatas bravas were basically just fries.& the paella was the worst I've had in my life.
I lived in Spain for four years, & I'm not exaggerating when I say: please don't call that paella. More broadly, the food last night didn't resemble what you'd expect from Spanish cuisine at all.
I truly hope the owners take this comment seriously, because I left feeling really disappointed-& honestly, embarrassed in front of my friends after recommending the place based on my previous experience.
We had an amazing dinner for 6. We shared the lobster croquettes, Jamón croquettes, seafood Paella, pan con tomate & patatas bravas. For dessert we had churros & tres leches cake. Everything was absolutely delicious. Manuel was so helpful & knowledgable.
Excellent service, belle découverte & ambiance décontractée. Souvenirs de vacances en Espagne. Les croquetas de jambon & celles au homards & la pulpo con patatas sont délicieuses. Nous y retournerons c'est certain! Muchas gracias ! 🥰
Nourriture excellente, toutefois pour une vraie expérience à l'espagnole, on aurait aimé avoir un plus grand choix de tapas. De plus, les patatas bravas, pourtant un grand classique, n'étaient que de simples frites, vraiment décevant.
Pour le prix, un peu déçue du plateau de fromage.
Par contre, très bon service, rapide & convivial & la déco est vraiment sympa.
J'ai adoré les croquettes au jambon ibérique, un vrai délice ! J'ai même hésité à en recommander, mais mon estomac n'avait plus de place. En revanche, la recette des patatas bravas m'a un peu surpris : elles n'étaient pas servies en cubes comme le veut la tradition, mais en lamelles façon frites. Ce n'est pas la présentation habituelle, mais cela reste une question de goût. La planche de fromages, quant à elle, était généreusement garnie de fromages incroyablement savoureux. Il manquait de la musique pour ambiancer le tout
Had this place saved & happened to be in the area. In reading the reviews, didn't realize that Spanish food was such a polarizing topic. In our experience, we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We are well travelled domestically & internationally & found this to be as good & tasty as multiple cities in Spain & no I'm not comparing it to touristy restaurants near popular locations. Each dish was legitimately tasty. Our favorite was the squid ink paella with the pulpa con patatas a very close second. Service was excellent, courteous & prompt. I also noticed a quality control reviewing before each dish was served. Recommended with enthusiasm.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bouqueria in Montreal, & it was an experience worth sharing. I ordered the fish of the day, which happened to be the whole Branzino. Let me tell you, it was expertly grilled to perfection. The fish was tender, flavorful, & beautifully presented, making it a true highlight of the meal. The dish came with escalivada, a delicious medley of grilled vegetables, & Patatas Bravas, which were absolutely the best-tasting potatoes I've ever had. The crispy potatoes paired with the sweet & creamy mayo mixture were simply divine. The ambiance at Bouqueria was another standout. The homey & serene decor made it easy to relax & enjoy the meal. It felt like a warm, welcoming escape from the bustle of the city. The service was equally impressive-our server was incredibly attentive & sweet, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Overall, Bouqueria is a gem in Montreal's culinary scene. If you're looking for a place with delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, & top-notch service, I highly recommend giving it a try!
Service impeccable, délicieux cocktails & que dire des patatas bravas qui etaient absolument délicieuses. Le décor est magnifique autant sur la terrasse qu'à l'intérieur.
Nous avons tous pris la guédille au homard qui était très bonne & le prix était raisonnable compte tenu qu'il y avait des patatas bravas inclus. Par contre, l'assiette de charcuterie/fromage était bon mais beaucoup trop cher. Les serveurs étaient désorganisés ce qui a rendu le service moins agréable. Nous avons quand même passé une belle soirée, mais ne pensons pas retourner à ce restaurant.
This restaurant was the highlight of our Montreal trip! Upon arriving at the restaurant, the ambiance right by the waterfront in the middle of summer set a wonderful mood for the rest of the night for my friends & me. We sat down & the server was attentive to our food needs. Started off with wine, sangria & oysters, we already knew this was going to be a great meal tasting the freshness of oysters - felt like it was fresh from the ocean. Right after, we ordered the half chicken & were pleasantly surprised with the large delicious portion of chicken, patatas bravas & legumes. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who visit Old Montreal as locals & tourists!

Comida deliciosa, la paella de mariscos estaba riquísima al igual que las patatas. También tienen un servicio excelente, Pablo, nuestro mesero, fue muy amable ☺️
We were there yesterday, we enjoyed it.. Food was amazing: we ordered paella (black y rice) ,croquettes, patatas bravas & pan con tomate. We will be back soon.
