super sympa! ceviche delicieux. service rapide & souriant. accueil sympathique!
At Bocadillo Bistro, the shrimp ceviche is a standout-fresh, zesty, & perfectly seasoned. Coupled with live flamenco dance performances, the vibrant atmosphere elevates the dining experience. Plus, the prices are very reasonable. A must-visit for a delightful evening!
Delicious food the cachapa was so good stuffed with fresh cheese & the drink very refreshing Cocada the Venezuela vibes numero uno
Unbelievable restaurant. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. This is my new favourite restaurant in Montreal.
Charming little place with a nice patio at the back. The sandwiches are average & the price is steep for the portions. The fried yuca was very good. Service also very good.
Looking for a place to eat after attending a book launch, my partner & I decided to try this place since we were getting cold walking outside & I had never had Venezuelan food. We ordered 2 arepas & 2 drinks. My drink was a passionfruit juice which tasted like Oasis juice (7$). The staff was friendly & I had the opportunity to practice my Spanish. There was live music provided by a singer & a guitarist. We both quite enjoyed the experience. When the bill came, I was distracted possibly because I was trying to converse in Spanish so I solely focused on the subtotal to calculate the total. I paid 108$ (which includes tax & tip). We left & while I was walking towards the metro station, it occurred to me that the total seemed off since the price for an arepas was around 25$ & a drink around 7$. I returned to the restaurant & saw the waitress & asked if I could see the bill (I had not asked for it after I paid). She asked if there was something wrong or what did I want to see. I responded that I think a mistake was made since I paid 108$ our order could not add up to that total. She said that it is because there is a cover charge of 10$ person (for the live music) & on nights when there is dancing (salsa I believe) the charge is 25$. The cover charge was never mentioned when we initially entered the restaurant or at any other moment during our meal. I find this rather dishonest & it soured my whole experience of the night which is why I am leaving an unfavorable review.
It was an amazing experience! Great location in Italian district of Montreal. The atmosphere was dynamic & cozy. The live music by Freddy Band was fantastic. The bartender were so helpful. & the food & drink were great. I highly recommend Sangria!
Authentic brazilian food! Cool vibe with live music. Vegetarian options were limited. The service was great!
After walking around the market we worked up an appetite & decided to try this place. This was our first time trying Venezuelan food. We got sat pretty quickly as the place was pretty empty. After waiting for about 40 minutes (with no updates)our food finally came out. The food was great, I got the "Llenera" . So the food itself was great, but not worth waiting that long.
Beware of this place they preset a minimal tip of 18% & they charge the tips on the final amount after tax while tips should be calculated on the bill amount before tax. They also Charge you more if you want to assist to the show wich is in the same room as the restaurant , You already eat there & get screwed on the tips . Food is ok
The decor is very nice, the server was friendly & the show was very good. Sadly the food wasn't great, the arepa seemed grilled from frozen, too doughy inside & slightly burnt on the outside, & kept breaking off in pieces. The arepa looked big & impressive but for $25 I expected something tastier & more cohesive. The ceviche was just fine, & the empanadas de cazón were weirdly sweet? We ordered caipirinhas & while tasty, they were overflowing with ice & had very little actual drink in them. Again, disappointing for a $15 cocktail. I was so excited to try this place, but don't see myself coming back anytime soon.
