Bistrot Fortune has quickly become a beloved neighborhood destination, celebrated for its cozy, intimate atmosphere and stylish decor. Guests consistently praise the exceptional fusion menu, which artfully balances Southeast Asian and South American flavors, with the hamachi crudo, eggplant with tofu cream, and crispy pork salad standing out as particular favorites. The experience is enhanced by an attentive, professional service team and a carefully curated wine selection that pairs beautifully with the dishes. Whether visiting for a date night, a gathering with friends, or a solo meal, visitors are impressed by the attention to detail, high-quality ingredients, and the vibrant, welcoming energy that makes this bistro a standout addition to the city.
We went to Bistrot Fortune for a birthday dinner & had the tasting menu, every single dish was delicious & cooked perfectly. We were able to try several appetizers & entrées, & honestly, I still think about some of the dishes today.
The Vietnamese fusion flavours really stood out, & I loved being able to experience familiar Vietnamese tastes in such a thoughtful & elevated way. The decor is beautiful, & it's such a great addition to the neighbourhood.
The service was impeccable from start to finish. I would recommend Bistrot Fortune for just about any occasion, a date night, dinner with friends or family, or even a solo meal. I'm usually not someone who goes back to the same restaurants, but this is definitely one I'd return to without hesitation.
This is a lovely neighborhood spot. The chefs pull off a really difficult combination of Southeast Asian & South American flavors. Best meal I've had in years in an unpretentious atmosphere. Very friendly staff as well.
Service was a bit slow, but they're still getting the hang of things. The biggest disappointment is that the food gave my partner & I food poisoning that evening, I tried reaching out to the restaurant directly but received no response. The restaurant itself is very nice inside & it's nice to see places opening up in the area but unfortunately we can't recommend it.
Wow! Everything about this place was great. Excellent service, ambiance & of course the food was spectacular! Haven't been wowed by a restaurant in a little while but the flavours here were so good. Hamachi crudo, beef onglet & the banana cake dessert were all standouts.
The tables were very small, & the seating felt uncomfortable. It was very hot & stuffy inside.
The service was slow, with a 40-minute wait between the appetizers & the main courses.
For cocktails, we ordered the Pandan Negroni & the Mezcalita Jamaica. Unfortunately, neither of them was particularly impressive.
The appetizers were the best this evening. The Hamachi Crudo & Shrimp Aguachile were fresh & full of flavor. The Crispy Pork Salad & Eggplant with Tofu Cream were both good.
As for the main courses, we absolutely loved the Mushroom Curry. It was packed with flavor, & the combination of the rich curry sauce, mushrooms, & assorted vegetables worked perfectly together. The Braised Beef was also tasty.
The pork ribs (not on the menu), were a bit disappointed, they were much too sweet for our taste.
The biggest disappointment of the evening was the Canh Chua Cá (Sweet & Sour Fish Soup). While the fish was fresh & the soup included all the traditional vegetables, the broth lacked depth & balance. It was too bland & seemed to be missing the signature sweet, sour, & savory flavors that make a good Canh Chua. The sourness wasn't pronounced enough, the seasoning was lacking, & the sweetness was barely noticeable. Overall, it could be improved.
