Review Summary

Bistro Isaka is widely regarded as a premier destination for authentic, high-quality Japanese cuisine in LaSalle, featuring exceptionally fresh sushi, perfectly seasoned rice, and a variety of traditional dishes that reflect genuine care and preparation. Many patrons praise the restaurant for its reasonable prices and superior value, particularly during lunch hours, noting that the food quality often rivals experiences found in Japan. While the culinary offerings receive consistent acclaim, feedback regarding the service and atmosphere is varied, with some customers appreciating the efficiency and friendliness of the staff, while others report instances of slow service, a lack of warmth, or concerns regarding the dining environment. Reservations are highly recommended to ensure seating, as the popularity of this local gem can lead to limited availability and occasional distractions from a high volume of takeout orders.

Really authentic Japanese food. The kind of food you want like going to Tokyo. The ten don is amazing & try hamachikama. It's the best in this place. Don't forget Tsukune with Asahi. You will love it. Very generous portion, too.

Vraiment trop bon!

Half of the restaurant is for take out bags. One of the most delicious & authentic Japanese restaurant in Montreal. Japanese Chef behind the counter. Fresh fish & Japanese tapas. Very affordable prices & the portion are generous.

For nigiri, there is no comparison in Montreal. Eat at the sushi bar.

Great food, great service, very affordable. Only took 1 star off because the restaurant part needs alot of improvement. I suspect they kind of just transition to take out/delivery so the restaurant is not really a focus for them.

I used to go to Isakaya when it was on Parc Ave & didn't realize it had moved to this new (closer to me!) location. I think it's primarily for take-out now, but there are a couple spots to sit inside if you're only a small amount of people. The food was amazing, & the service helpful & kind. I wasn't sure what to expect because it seemed so different, but this will now be our go-to sushi place!
