Bis is a wonderful restaurant. We go often & are never ever disappointed. Lots of choice plus special dishes prepared for the day &... everything is delicious from start to finish !! Highly recommended!
Food was very underwhelming & we also were not a fan of the service. Must have been an off night for them from seeing all the other positive reviews. Told them when making the reservation & when they confirmed the reservation that it was my husbands birthday. There was no acknowledgment, not even a simple happy birthday. Wouldn't recommend this place.
Me & two girlfriends travelled from Ottawa to enjoy a nice dinner before a concert at the Bell Centre, we were looking forward to some really good Italian Food especially based on the reviews. The food & atmosphere was great! The only reason why I am subtracting one star is because I received a rather rude & strange call from the restaurant just half an hour before our reservation. They asked us to come in earlier because they were worried they might give us bad service because when I booked online I wrote in the notes that we were heading to a concert after... I told them because we were travelling, our time of the reservation was literally the only time we could make it, & I even shared that we didn't have a time limit. They seemed a little annoyed & I had this feeling that they just wanted us to cancel. Not sure why any restaurant would call to suggest to a guest that they may give poor service because guests want to attend a concert after? Unprofessional. We were a little taken back but we went anyway because it was too late to make a reservation elsewhere. During service, they only brought up the concert once (thank god) & were at least just nice to us. Service ended up being great & so was the food & drinks.
We have been visiting Montreal for about 20 years now (4-5 times a year at least) & each time we make sure to eat at Bis. The food is always delicious, the staff super friendly & attentive, & the service is outstanding. We are remembered by some of the waiters which gives this restaurant a true "family" feel. Highly recommend for a tasty meal on a cozy space!

Food was great. Best lamb shank osso bucco I have had. Rissotto with it was superb. Service was a bit slow at times, but it was a busy Saturday night. On other visits , service has been superb.
We have been trying a few restaurants since the end of the pandemic & are so happy to have found Bis . The service & quality of the food is excellent , unlike some others we have tried that offer only excuses to explain why they are not up to par.
