Review Summary

Bawarchi is widely recognized in Montreal for offering authentic and flavorful South Indian cuisine, with its biryani selections frequently cited as a standout highlight. Many patrons appreciate the diverse menu, generous portions, and the ability to customize spice levels, making it a favorite for those seeking a genuine taste of Indian spices. While the restaurant receives consistent praise for its welcoming and attentive staff, some visitors have noted that service can become disorganized or slow during peak hours. Despite occasional feedback regarding missing items in takeout orders or inconsistent spice balance, the overall consensus highlights the establishment as a top-tier destination for high-quality, authentic Indian dining in a cozy and friendly atmosphere.

Only go if you really crave extra spicy Indian food. serious test on your spice tolerance (Even by Indian standards.) good luck in the toilet the next day. Most Biriyanis & starters are the same you wont find a lot of difference in taste. & the only feeling you will get is the spice. If the food is extra salty, its mixing with the sweat from your forehead.

We recently had the pleasure of experiencing a remarkable culinary offering, specifically the biryani. Our selections included the Nawabi Paneer Biryani, Mutton Biryani, plain naan, & Korma. Each dish was prepared to an exceptional standard, delivering a truly delightful gastronomic experience. It has been some time since I have encountered biryani of such high quality. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment.

If you visit this restaurant, you absolutely have to order the Lamb Korma. The meat was fall-apart tender, & the sauce had a rich, luxurious depth of flavor that was perfectly balanced. It's easily one of the best versions of this dish I've ever had

My family LOVES this. It's authentic South Indian food. I highly recommend the 555 shrimp & chilli chicken. As well as mutton ghost biriyani.

Délicieux. Service long en 3 temps pour notre groupe & surtout personne ne parle français.

Excellent Indian restaurant specializing in Hyderabadi cuisine. The food is quite authentic, curries have satisfying thickness. A variety of naans, I loved the cheese one. Price-to-portion ratio is about right for an Indian restaurant in 2026, about $30 per head. Service was ok.
