Amazing cocktails, & friendly & knowledgeable staff. We were there relatively early in the evening & it was a great atmosphere & perfect for conversation. I imagine later at night when the place gets crowded & the music goes up it's more lively but less intimateView more

A must-visit destination for all Montreal tourists! Great ambiance, phenomenol service & great drinks. It starts at the door. Very humble bouncers, & once you are seated, great hostesses charm you with the offerings. Ours was able to do a good read of rum vs. whisky. & then we had a couple more rounds. Everyone is welcome (three single guys In my case), but this is an amazing place to bring a date. The DJ is spectacular, too! Awesome transitions. Thank you for a great night. We only went for a few drinks before going out for dinner but what a great experience at the bar with the bartender, he was wonderful & engaging at explaining the various cocktails. We enjoyed the conversation about drinks & spirits. I would definitely go back at a time when it's not to busy to enjoy that time again. I highly recommend to anyone looking for imaginative cocktails both avec & sans alcohol.View more

Truly an incredible experience where the unobtrusive service staff were there to help 💯. *An important point to make is that the music was lush, with rhythms curated & cued up by Silver Fvks. This was part of a monthly residency so keep an eye out for that DJ duo. After realizing that all my senses were going to be spoiled I got comfortable in a minimalist yet classy booth & went with a bold choice for my first beverage --- a "Big Fun in Little China". Double review, of the old place & new First went there about a year ago. Small, but the drinks were great, staff was friendly & quick. I loved the little food menu from the place upstairs. The special drinks were amazing & i ordered several. Fast forward to the new location. The bar looks amazing. Lot more open then the old place. The bouncers were friendly & joking with us while we waited for a place. This is where the slight disappointment started. Once seated we waiting almost 30 mins for a server to come see us. People seated after us got served their drinks before the even took our order. In 1 hour we saw our server once. I'll give them that it was a busy evening, but it was irritating. The drinks were ok, I am not sure if they changed the recipe or ingredients since the old location but Le Mal Necessaire tasted a lot different then the old one. Maybe the pineapple was from concentrate? Something didn't taste the same in it. Still good but I'd drop the rating a star of how it used to be. & they don't have the snack menu anymore. SO over all great looking place. But maybe a victim of its own success? I didn't have the rude experience that some seem to speak of but our server took even longer to bring our bill then to take the drinks. another server saw us getting annoyed & came to help us. So service was mixed, drinks were better at the old place. But they layout was great. Good atmosphere. Maybe it was an off day.View more
