I thought it was sweet at first, but it turns out to be the British version of pork blood cake.

Nice location. The beef wellington & the dessert were very good (the starter : octupuss carpaccio was disappointing). The cocktail at 30$ was excessively expensive. Overall a good experience, but too expensive for what it is.View more
Pas la meilleure expérience entre rapport qualité & prix. Un endroit qui se prétend haut de gamme, un service très maladroit, on prend la commande d'un hamburger sans demander la cuisson, on sert un coca cola dans sa canette & l'on revient demander si l'on veut un supplément truffe payant sur une commande d'oeufs benedictine. Bref, on paye très cher des plats alambiqués pour un menu qui s'appelle'brunch', en un mot ridicule.
L'on peut douter du journaliste blogger qui recommande cet endroit comme le meilleur brunch de Montréal. Je ne mentionnerais pas son nom, mais si vous cherchez des articles de recommandations pour les meilleurs croissants de Montréal, vous allez l'identifier....View more
Firstly, it's a beautiful setting in an old mansion. We were greeted by a friendly hostess & seated promptly for our reservation. From here, things went downhill as we were ignored by waiter, Maxime, for 15-20 minutes, only for a brusque greeting of'do you want a drink' no apology for the delay. This ruined the experience out of the gate, & left us with little desire to spend additional time or money at this establishment.
The cocktail we ordered arrived with a good amount of foam spilled over the glass & down the side, leaving it a sticky mess.
In the amount of time it took to be served, receive our food, & be ignored by our waiter, I was able to write this entire review… Despite Maxime, being a blight on the entire evening, all other staff we dealt with were lovely, & the entrees (Beef Wellington & the Rigatoni) were flavorful & well prepared.View more

I had an amazing dining experience! The food was exceptional; especially the Beef Wellington, which was perfectly cooked & full of flavor. Service was impressively fast, & our waiter Zachery was an absolute delight. He recommended the perfect dessert & was incredibly accommodating with my non-alcoholic drink requests. We recently tried this restaurant & had a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious. The menu isn't very long, but it offers a well-curated variety that caters to different tastes. A true delicatesse.
Service gets four stars because our waiter disappeared during dessert & was replaced only after we had to look for someone. A bit disappointing not to have consistent service throughout.View more

I mostly eat vegetarian, sometimes a little bit of chicken, so the food for me was somewhat limited. But I really enjoyed the vibe & the drinks. Would recommend Bar George to almost everyone. It's a pretty historic place & is a good time.View more

Absolutely wonderful restaurant & bar, especially if you like jazz. They serve delicious food & drinks, provide a lovely atmosphere with a beautiful interior, have very friendly staff & they play great music. Eating in the bar area to the lovely tunes of jazz classics accompanied by a tasty cocktail knocks this one out of the park. I ate lunch at Bar George right after peak lunch time so there was just the right amount of people there; not too few to make you feel alone but not to many to make it feel crowded, this amount of people is just right for a restaurant like this.View more
Beautiful carved wood walls & ceiling. Vibes are super cool BUT I would totally remodel the area in the back. If you know you know what area. The walls have a bland color & compared to the rest of the bar it doesn't really match with the rest… I would add a nice wallpaper like they have in the front lobby & more vintage lamps to keep the vibes similar.
