About

Bar de Courcelle functions as a vibrant neighborhood hub focused on live musical performances and an extensive selection of local craft beers. The interior design reflects an industrial aesthetic with exposed brick and high ceilings that prioritize acoustic clarity for touring bands. Patrons select from an assortment of shared plates and small snacks designed for efficient consumption alongside beverage service. The beverage program emphasizes rotating taps from regional breweries and specialized cocktails tailored for a casual social environment. A large outdoor patio area provides additional space for larger gatherings during the warmer seasons of the year. This venue maintains a consistent focus on fostering a lively atmosphere through consistent entertainment programming and a straightforward approach to accessible bar fare and refreshments.

Review Summary

Bar de Courcelle is frequently celebrated as a cozy, authentic neighborhood gem known for its electric atmosphere, friendly service, and diverse range of events like open mics, quizzes, and live music. Many visitors appreciate the retro vibe, comfortable lighting, and well-regarded drink menu, particularly the Caesars and local beer selections. While the staff consistently receives praise for being attentive and welcoming, some feedback suggests that certain aspects of the facilities, such as the restrooms, could benefit from better upkeep. Overall, it remains a popular destination for those seeking a laid-back spot with great energy, tasty food options, and consistent entertainment.

My first apartment in Montreal was across the street from this bar 15 years ago, before it became cool, it was an old school trashy'bar du coin', now it's a cool spot with live music often & good beer on tap. The retro lighting & interior is real, not a recreation haha. I love the amber/orange light fixtures

Went to the bar on a recommendation of a local & this place is amaze balls! Totally chill with live music on Sunday but the real draw is 90's hip hop Tuesdays with Maggie bartending. Had an absolute blast & couldn't have asked for a more authentic, home-feel, place to spend some time in a city when I travel so often.
