We came for the Peter Rabbit High Tea to celebrate Easter while visiting Montreal & were immediately charmed by the cozy vibe, music & cute decor on the 2nd floor seating area that reflected the Easter theme. The three-tiered tray of tasty food was generously portioned, especially the sandwiches. A delightful refreshing mocktail & a huge pot of tea were included. We loved the Easter themed macarons, mini bundt cakes & cookies!
The service was amazing as they frequently checked on us & when they noticed we were so full after the sandwiches & scones, they offered to pack the desserts for us to take away.
While we were there, we noticed we were the only ones dining upstairs. All customers came in to order something to take out. It felt like we had our own private oasis for the afternoon so we think this lovely cafe is a hidden gem. A hidden gem that we will definitely return to when we're back in Montreal!
I got served a lukewarm latte with the wrong milk - the barista or owner (?) didn't seem to be fond of listening to their clients & more focused on texting while on the job. Also they were extremely rude & gave off an unwelcoming vibe. I ordered a croissant which I had asked to be heated but again, the person serving me ignored my request. It's unlikely I will ever return & I hope for the sake of your future clientele that you show more care towards them. I only put one star because I had to put any at all.
We were absolutely blindsided by the price for our daughters birthday. I've attached the correspondence my partner & I had with the cafe.
For a 4 year olds birthday party we had 7 children & their parents. 15 people total. We were fine with the cost of the room ($150) & $10 per adult for a tiered charcuterie board & some pastries. However, we had read the pricing for the cupcakes as $50 for 6 cupcakes, snacks & juice. As we estimated 8-10 kids we thought'sure, $100 for 12 cupcakes & snacks & juice should be okay on top of the $150 for the room & $10 per adult for charcuterie'.
But no, we noticed that they were bringing out dozens & dozens & dozens of cupcakes. Around this time I got a charge on my credit card for $700 IN ADDITION to the $150 deposit I put down for the room.
We were told that it was 6 cupcakes PER CHILD…$50 per child…
In our shock we asked what could be done as we had around 60 cupcakes & a HUGE cake for 14 people.
Nothing could be done & our concern for the insane fee & amount of cupcakes for a Children's Party was dismissed to our faces. We were told that'we have been doing this for 10 years' & that was that.
All of our friends were shocked. No parent in their right mind would have read'$50 for 6 cupcakes & snacks & juice' to mean 6 cupcakes for EACH child. No parent would ever agree to go to a party where their child was given that much sugar…
Oh, & we were told we would want to buy a cake. As we thought we had only ordered 12 cupcakes, we agreed. We ended up with like 60 cupcakes & a cake for 14 people…for 7 children ages 2, 2, 4,4,4, 6 & 7.
I hope they make it right. The venue was cute, but this is unacceptable.
We had my daughter's birthday here.
We were very excited about the occasion & thought the business was very communicative. However there was a huge misunderstanding, we read the yellow highlighted bit as a package: 6 cupcakes, snacks & juice for 50$.
The red highlighted bit we understood to be 10$ per adult.
Instead of being brought 12 cupcakes at why we thought would be $100 they brought out 60(6 per kid!!!)!
We had calculated the party to cost about $410.
We were blind sided by a charge of $500 just for cupcakes. Then total ended up being around $850!
The food was good & the room was adorable but we are completely appalled by the lack of clarity & the lack of sympathy they had when we brought up our concerns.
I hope they make this right but just be warned to get a total estimate before booking with this place

The brownies I ordered were too sweet from my liking. But the place is cute. They have dog treats too.
Quaint café. Feels like a doll house. Love it. I ordered a bday cake, sent them the model as shown here & the owner Vanessa was up for the challenge. My kind of business, the type that doesn't shy away from novelty.
The result was mitigated however. Some guests liked the cake. Some noted too many buttery layers which made it too sweet. I personally loved the texture & the raspberry perfume but I set aside the layers. Had it been one layer, it would have been perfect.
Jessica had confirmed by email that the cake would be ready on given day & when I asked What color will be the hair, clothes etc..., I got no answer. I also did not know it would be a high cake quite different from photo.
That is a lesson for me to confirm every detail! Nice job regardless.
Cute little Café with yummy lunch & very affordable. Also yummy macarons & funny accessories.
A very nice & cozy place with a nice apple cake & good cappuccino. Prices are very reasonable.
Commande d'un bento cake pour un anniversaire au top ! Décoré comme demandé & surtout très bon , léger & crémeux à la fois. Merci beaucoup !
