Bar à Beurre is described as a cozy, affordable spot with good food and friendly service, offering a welcoming atmosphere and a range of tasty pastries, macarons, lunch options, and even dog treats; the decor is often praised for its cute, dollhouse-like vibe and a nice space to work or chat, and high tea is highlighted as delicious and immersive; the birthday cake orders are mixed, with some enjoying the texture and raspberry notes while others find it too sweet or different from the reference photo, and a few reviews note gaps in communication or changes in price and hours; overall the cafe is seen as a charming, versatile place for brunch, takeaway pastries, and casual visits, though some guests report price increases and occasional early closures.
Got a delicious Chicken & Brie panini. Took a butter bagel to go! Very delicious, super cute environment, & lovely staff. Definitely recommend stopping in when you need a sweet treat on your Montreal adventures. Signs were (understandably) in French, but the lady at the front spoke English which made it easy for my non-bilingual self!
What an amazing place! Really unique & delicious treats!!! My only problem is with their hours - 7:30-4:30!? Who decided this!? As a working person I have no time to go in the morning (what proper downtown Montrealer is up at 7:30 anyway? That's for suburbanites who have to sit in traffic for 2 hours) & by the time I get off work they're closed. They would have taken 5x more of my money by now if they kept hours that aligned with when I, & I'm sure the majority of their customer pool, can go. Why not 11:00- 7:00? 10:30-6:30? Would probably even be easier for them to find staff, because few young people want to wake up at 6AM to make a 7:30 shift

We are visiting Montreal - we stumbled upon this place & stopped for brunch. Everything was delicious! The people are really friendly. I want to eat all the things in the cabinet; but I'm too full!! I have already pinned this place for my next visit to Montreal - I will definitely be coming back!
Great ambiance & decoration! Clearly a lot of butter here! Haha, I did not notice until I tasted the food 😅 Great selection of food. Food & lattee are good.
Such a lovely little place! Stopped in here with two grumpy kids looking for something remotely healthy, & was thrilled to be able to get them a grilled cheese sandwich & a delicious smoothie- picky kid approved! Super friendly service, several dairy free options for my husband, & an amazing selection of baked goods, all for a reasonable price. We'll be back here.
We were attracted by the exterior decor & once inside we realized it gets better. So many things we would love the purchase including prayer style candles with pop stars or celebrities on them which we loved. Apart from the beautiful & elaborate interior we enjoyed some magnificent, homemade tasting macarons in various delicious flavours & French toast latte, yes read that again, it's as good as it sounds. We also couldn't help but get the cookie adorned with lucky charms which was too if to finish but still wonderful.

Beautiful Beatrix Potter window display. Great selection of Easter/spring theme cakes & biscuits.Order in advance for the specialty cakes if you don't want to be disappointed.
This is a super cute & aesthetic place to just work a little while eating & drinking a hot chocolate. The food was so good & really not too expensive, also note that the prices are incl taxes!
