Super restaurant that serves some of the best Mexican food outside of Mexico.
We ordered the 5 course menu & it did not disappoint. All the corn products tasted just what I remember from Mexico. The highlight was the tetela with pipian, which tasted just as the ones my grandmother used to make. The fish dish was super simple & super delicious, & delicate flavors.
We ordered the tlacoyo, which was extra from the menu. It was ok, nothing out of this world, plus it was a little raw in the middle. However, the salsa that came with the tlacoyos was to die for. The spiciness & the flavors well super well balanced.
The only comment I have is that some of the portions seemed a bit small & for someone who has a good appetite, I was still hungry at the end of the meal.View more

Service was impeccable. The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere & the vibes inside was immaculate. The presentation, which was creative & fun, is really the standout. It's very cozy inside. The food is very good as well, & there were 2-3 dishes in the Carte Blanche menu that really knocked it out of the park. The focus on local ingredients was also great. The highlight of the meal was surprisingly the duck breast, which was absolutely wonderful. There were a few dishes that lacked slightly in flavour or needed a little bit more balance (I must admit, I was more critical than usual because Mexican food is one of my favourites) but in general, a wonderful experience.View more

Spent 700$ for 2 people on full menu (9 courses plus wine pairings). Left drunk & hungry. Portions so tiny, my stomach was just sloshing with alcohol.
Was the food tasty? Sure. Would I come back to Alma? No. If I'm spending that much money to walk away hungry, there are much better options in Montreal to spend 700$ for 2 people.View more

We had the carte blanche with the wine pairing. Beautiful plating & well executed textures but many dishes lacked depth of flavour & spice. The tacos de setas & their signature seabream crudo were the standout dishes.
The selection of Catalan wines was interesting, though several pairings didn't quite complement the dishes as well as expected.View more

On a eu la chance d'aller au Alma & c'était vraiment excellent !
Je comprends pourquoi c'est considéré comme le meilleur resto mexicain à Montréal. Je crois avoir mangé le meilleur taco de ma vie.
Le seul petit point négatif, c'est les portions. On aurait aimé avoir un ou deux services de plus.
Mais sinon, c'était vraiment une super expérience.
Si vous aimez la cuisine mexicaine, c'est un endroit à absolument essayer.
En plus, il y a la Terraza Luz à l'arrière, ouverte majoritairement les fins de semaine. L'ambiance est vraiment le fun, pis la bouffe reste de super bonne qualité.View more
