My girlfriend & I ordered a chicken & griot plate. The menu promised macaroni & rice for each plate. What we received was the complete opposite.
Instead of proper sides, the dish had a handful of spring-mix leaves sitting in the same container as the hot food not on the side, not separated literally touching the rice & meat. It looked like decoration, but the heat turned it into a wilting, soggy salad that made the entire plate steamy & mushy. The contrast was unpleasant, & the salad was unusable.
To make matters worse, my girlfriend's plate never showed up at all. We had to split my meal, which was already small, leaving us both still hungry. Portion-wise, it wasn't even enough for one person, let alone two.
The photos online are misleading. The plates in the pictures look full, clean, & intentional. What we got felt rushed, poorly assembled, & nowhere near the advertised presentation.
The only reason we ate it is because we were starving - & I'll be honest, the taste wasn't terrible. I'd give the flavor 3.9/5, but everything else from accuracy to portion to presentation was a miss.
If you're ordering because of the pictures, manage your expectations. What's advertised is not what's delivered.
Disappointing, & unfortunately not a place I'd recommend.

Le griot était gras aucun morceaux moelleux & juteux pour le prix d'une canette & plat à 23$ ça vaut pas tant la peine par contre le riz était bon.

The service, food & cleanliness is amazing. The woman working there made a fresh batch of griot for us to assure our satisfaction. We were so pleased with her caring service. The food was amazing, great taste & crisp. Definately recommend this location for authentic Creole cuisine on the go. (Ps; they also have 2 for 1 deal on griot monday through wednesday).

Bon prix, bon service. Intéressant de découvrir des plats qu on connait moins. C est 2 pour 1 sur le griot du lundi au mercredi. On a mangé en fsmille pour 20$. Excellent

My first experience was great, but after that it went downhill. Gave them two chances, both times griot was like eating rock, zero flavour… Also my friend asked for extra vegies & she charged him 8.99 & she wouldnt tell him the price until the bill came. All in all, im sure it depends when you go for the quality of food, but thats a major issue that has to be fixed. Finally to the boss, ask your employees to smile, just a tip.

Ça fait toujours plaisir de voir un restau haïtien dans un foodcourt au carrefour Laval. J'y ai été une première fois & pour la quantité/prix c'était correct. Par contre lorsque j'y été la deuxième fois le griot était vraiment dur & sec, mais reste que le riz collé reste assez bon & le pikliz est vraiment incroyable! J'y retournai à mon prochain déplacement au carrefour, mais j'essaierai autre chose que le griot

Pas le meilleur griot que j'ai mangé. Un peu sec. Ont s'attendaient à avoir plus de bananes plantain & de salade. La personne au comptoir s'est penché au sol & n'a pas changé ses gants pour jouer avec la caisse & faire les plats…

J'ai récemment essayé Aléken au Carrefour Laval, & je peux dire que c'est une véritable pépite pour les amateurs de cuisine haïtienne ! Les plats sont savoureux, bien assaisonnés & préparés avec des ingrédients frais. J'ai particulièrement adoré le griot, tendre & croustillant à souhait, accompagné d'un pikliz parfaitement relevé.

Le service est chaleureux & accueillant, ce qui ajoute à l'expérience. On sent vraiment la passion derrière chaque plat, & les portions sont généreuses pour un excellent rapport qualité-prix.

Si vous cherchez une bonne adresse pour savourer des spécialités haïtiennes authentiques à Laval, Aléken est une excellente option. J'y retournerai sans hésiter !

Griot was perfect. Was there 11:30am there sauce was awsome. 25 bucks tho. All around good food. Ok shut up jay. The banane plaintin was good. I had worst. Fat in griot is welcome. Jon jon rice was awsome. Shut up jay.

J'ai pris l'assiette de griot. C'est bon , pas le meilleur que j'ai mangé, il était un peu sec mais il goutait bon. Les accompagnements de salade de pâtes & le riz étaient bons. J'aime bien la banane plantain . Merci ,j'ai bien mangé.

Le Griot ne sera pas le meilleur que j'ai mangé. Il y a bcp mais bcp trop de morceaux de gras. C'est la moitié du plat. C'est bcp trop. Le riz est bon mais trop salé. La banane est petite mais assez bonne. Par contre le Pikliz est très bon. Le Staff était gentil.
