Aldea, it is a traditional cuisine inspired by our Portuguese villages that invites you to sharing and conviviality. It is the small village of Portugal, in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal.
Aldea consistently delivers authentic Portuguese flavors with fresh seafood, tender octopus, mussels, bacalhau and a seafood platter that showcases quality ingredients. Service is repeatedly described as attentive, warm and professional, making guests feel welcome whether at a small table or a larger gathering. The atmosphere is noted as cozy and family run with a lively yet refined setting that often feels like a brief trip to Portugal. Value is praised with generous portions and reasonable prices alongside a well curated wine selection. Conversations reflect consistency across visits, with meals arriving well plated and served at the right temperature. Many reviewers highlight the menu variety from tapas to main courses and the chef's ability to tailor dishes to guests. Occasions are celebrated here and recommendations to friends and visitors come naturally, underscoring Aldea as a go to dining experience. All in all the dining experience blends traditional Portuguese cuisine with modern touches, earning high marks for food, service and ambiance.
Really delicious plates, good portions & well seasoned. The service is attentive. Unfortunately, for the price you pay, I would expect to be seated more comfortably. The tables are squeezed together, so you're almost part of the conversation at the neighbour's table. To get up to go to the restroom is a hassle & there's only a narrow walkway that you share with the fast walking servers. You have to be careful not to bump into them or the tables on your route. I felt like I was in the Cirque du Soleil.
Our experience was just excellent!!!!! The ingredients were so fresh & the food was delicious! We also had the oysters (ask the server if they have)they were perfect!!. The best Portuguese restaurant in Montreal without a doubt!!

We had a wonderful time at Aldea. LOUIS gave us a great service. We tried several items & we loved them all! Highly recommend fried Octopus, calamari, filet mignon & Shrimp skewer, fish of the day, & veal chops. For dessert we loved the passion fruits the most.
