Review Summary

Ahan Thaï has quickly become a beloved destination for those seeking authentic and flavourful Thai cuisine, with many guests praising the freshness of the ingredients and the generous portion sizes. While the restaurant experiences high popularity that may result in longer wait times during busy periods, the warm, attentive, and welcoming service provided by the team is consistently highlighted as a major positive. Many diners describe the meals as delicious and reminiscent of traditional Thai cooking, making it a standout choice in the region. Although the dining space is intimate, which contributes to a cozy atmosphere, it is highly recommended to book a reservation in advance to ensure a smooth experience, as the restaurant is frequently at capacity.

So I had made a reservation via email for 4 people for last night. We arrived on time, but our table was not ready. Most tables were spoken for & of course, due to the rain, there was no seating available on the terrasse. A table was cleaned for us & when we sat down, there was nothing on the table save for 4 drinking glasses, menus & the trio of toppings (peanuts, chili flakes & something else I don't remember what) as there are on each table. Our glasses were filled & we perused the menu. 2 platters were ordered as main dishes for 2 guests, & they each had a soup for a starter. I ordered only the crispy chicken pad thai, & our 4th person ordered a soup for a starter & a pork dish (can't remember exactly what he had). After about an hour, the waitress served one platter for one person while the rest of us continued to wait. We were expecting the soups to be served first. Eventually she brought 1 soup & one platter for one guest. When his soup eventually arrived, my husband's was cold. We waited longer & then finally she brought the other 2 soups, & when we asked which was which, the waitress was unable to identify them. My pad thai & the pork dish came after. We had to ask for utensils & napkins. My husband never received his platter. We were all extremely disappointed with the service & the uninformed server. She was young, & sweet, but, unfortunately, not adequately trained. They attempted to bring the forgotten platter for my husband but by that time, the rest of us were practically finished our meals, & my husband refused the dish. Another young woman, who I am guessing was the manager came out to assess the situation. I'm not sure if there was a language barrier, but the next thing that happened was that the owner came to our table & identified herself. She apologised for the miscommunication & the errors, & gifted us our meals. It was a very unfortunate experience. Especially because the food was very good (although my pad thai could have been spicier). I will most certainly give them another chance, perhaps later in the summer when they are a bit more established & haved worked out their inefficiencies.
