Finally a great neighborhood restaurant in Westmount!

We come almost every Saturday night and we love the casual, yet elegant ambiance. The lovely staff cannot make you feel more welcomed. The Chef offers an original twist on classic French brasserie dishes made with fresh and local ingredients.
Unlike some previous reviewers, we find the price/portions ratio quite reasonable. The dishes are well executed and beautifully presented. This is not the kind of cookie-cutter restaurant you go if you want to “stuff” your face. Brasserie Centrale is a fine-dining restaurant with a neighborhood feel. We love it!

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner celebration, lovely setting, music and most importantly delicious . We sampled the Oyster bar , Wellfleet oysters, then the Special Menu , Shank of Lamb with root vegetables, and the Tilapia . Delicious and attentive service, reservations suggested
especially for more than 2 or special celebrations .
A great new resto with free parking after 6p on most evenings , nice decor and a nice change , go try it 514 439 0937 Host Paolo welcomes you soon!

Regarding our meal at Brasserie Centrale:

PROS: Food was generally delicious; service was professional, courteous and welcoming; nicely decorated resto with comfortable banquettes; very nice background music; easy parking in the evening (no meters after 6pm).

CONS: Very small portions, considering the prices; for a neighbourhood restaurant, either the prices need to come down, or the quantity of food on a plate needs to be increased. No Table d'hote. The total cost for an appetizer, main course and dessert will be at least $52 per person, including tax and tip, and could reach $70 with the more pricy offerings. Add a glass of wine or beer, and it's at least $62-$82 per person.

Most main courses do not come with a side order of vegetables or fries. For this privilege, add another $7-$10 to above total tab. This was astounding, as usually only a few elite downtown restos would still be doing this type of add-on pricing.

Charcuterie is cut at the bar.

Bread service is placed in a small metal wire basket at the table.

Acoustics could be a bit loud when filled to capacity.

No website or online menu with prices; c'mon guys, today a website is a total MUST DO!

We would love to go back to this resto very often, as soon as they correct some of these growing pains. The food is great, so we hope they do.

Tonight we headed out to Central Brasserie with the hopes that this latest addition to Westmount's restaurant scene would reverse the years of mediocrity that this address has witnessed when it housed Mess Hall and the late Well House.

The menu contains new takes on French brasserie classics as well as other seasonal dishes. We decided to try a bit of both, and complemented our dinner with a bottle of 2010 Bordeaux from Château Les Arromans.

In the end, the food spoke for itself and this place is definitely a winner in our book. With chef Rouyé and PARK Restaurant's Antonio Park at the helm, Westmount's newly-established restaurant scene is in good hands.

Was there last evening.

I picked the 5 course tasting menu. But they have various offerings, for ie a bar menu with ham, cheese platters, oysters + other à la carte choices. It's a mix of updated French cuisine, with some other casual bistrot fares as well(lamb burgers, club sandwich). All in all, a lovely place where the food is good and refined, although I have to say that based on this one specific meal, I found the dessert to be overworked (for ie, I do not need a cream of corn on my sablé) . I'll go back.
