For the second consecutive year, the Association of Mile End Business People (AGAME) and the SDC LaurierOuest invite the public to Mile End en fête on May 25th and 26th. It's a grand celebration that will offer a journey through the neighborhood to discover or rediscover its talents, diversity, and culinary, artistic, cultural, and artisanal richness that make it unique.
Mile End en fête is a friendly neighborhood celebration, lively and unifying, which will animate the streets for a weekend with a musical, cultural, and artistic program.
"The concept of Mile End en fête was born from the great need to highlight our neighborhood. This event aims to meet the businesses and enterprises of our area. The collaboration between SDC Laurier Ouest and AGAME is an initiative to promote and strengthen the character of an independent commercial hub that shines in Mile End, not only in Montreal but internationally as well." - Cynthia Moreau, President of AGAME
Two main gathering points are planned. The first will be located at the car wash on Laurier Avenue, and the second in the Ubisoft parking lot on Saint-Laurent Boulevard south of Bernard Street.
Laurier West Street will be closed to traffic between Saint-Laurent and Clark for the official opening of the Firefighters Museum of Fire Station 30. Vintage trucks, a fire simulator trailer, barbecues, and promotional merchandise featuring the fire station will be showcased.
Visitors will have the opportunity to witness the creation of a mural live with artist Ankh One, who will create the mural "The Gates of Time" on the walls of Lio Fratelli and Optical Center, at the corner of Laurier and Saint-Urbain. This project is funded by the City of Montreal's mural art program.
While observing the creation of the murals, participants can also enjoy musical performances and visit Extravaganz'arts costume shop to dress up, all while savoring beers from Dieu du Ciel.
