Montreal public markets are once again celebrating local beer and microbreweries with Oktoberfest, taking place across three main markets. The festivities kick off at Marché Maisonneuve on Saturday, September 20th, continue at Marché Atwater on Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th, and conclude at Marché Jean-Talon on Saturday, October 4th and Sunday, October 5th, from 11am to 7pm each day.
Visitors can enjoy over 100 local and craft beers from around twenty microbreweries, paired with classic festival foods such as hot dogs, sauerkraut, and pretzels. Free family-friendly activities, including inflatable games, face painting, and pumpkin decorating workshops, will be offered at Marché Maisonneuve and Atwater. Live music performances by local bands and DJs will also enhance the festive atmosphere.
Admission is free, and tasting glasses are available at the event ticket booth for $3.50, or $7 for a stein. Microbreweries will offer a standard tasting price of $4 for 5oz, $7 for 10oz, and $9 for 14oz.
Each market will have its own highlights: Marché Maisonneuve will feature paella, oysters, and other treats; Marché Atwater will offer games and contests for all ages; and Marché Jean-Talon will close Oktoberfest with the renowned Balkani hot dogs and lively musical performances.
The event is made possible thanks to the support of the City of Montreal.
