Conceived and produced by Alchimies, Créations et Cultures, the Montreal Arab World Festival is a thematic event dedicated to the encounter and dialogue between Arab and Western cultures. Through its three sections - Performing Arts, Culture Fair and Cinema - the FMA presents contemporary works that challenge both heritage and human experience, original creations in dance, music, theater, multidisciplinary arts, visual arts and media arts.
A veritable crossroads of artistic trends and orientations, the FMA is open to all artists, from all cultural horizons, and to other presenters and producers, here and around the world, to create a high point for cross-fertilization and exchange, and to give festival-goers a wide range of choices for quality activities.

Throughout our history, certain mysteries have remained unresolved. If we know that the Mediterranean Sea flows into the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Strait of Gibraltar, who can tell us which cultures flow from one shore to the other?
Do we really know what defines the boundaries of a culture? Should art be seen as a treasure of humanity, or as the prerogative of the communities from which it emerged? If artistic creation is confined solely to the gregarious dimension, censored or self-censored by the diktats of the immutable, what will become of souls with wandering identities in an age when the ends of the earth are just a click away? What will become of spaces like the FMA, whose DNA is made up of unusual mutations, improbable alchemies and unforeseen metamorphoses?
The FMA invites you to take part in an aesthetic and reflective exploration of the universe of composite forms and materials at work in every creation. Let's follow in the irreducible footsteps of the "other within", and underscore the universal quest for wonder that is the spice of all beauty and art.
In a delirious world of globalization and compartmentalized identities, where restriction is sometimes tantamount to freedom, singers, musicians, dancers, composers, filmmakers, actors and thinkers rekindle the flame of boundless creativity, where identities and cultures merge, collide and never cease to redefine themselves.
