Taverne Popina - A Trendy New Tavern Opens in Montreal's Plateau

A new neighbourhood tavern has arrived in the Plateau! The team behind Buvette Beaubien is launching Taverne Popina, a new project inspired by the Roman popina, small popular taverns where people would gather to eat and drink. In the kitchen, chef William Mallette offers a raw, boreal-inspired approach centred around fire, smoke and sharing. A short wine list, beers and cocktails round out the menu, all served in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

Located at 121 Duluth Street East, Taverne Popina will be open Tuesday to Sunday from 3 p.m. to midnight, with brunch also served Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The official launch will take place on Friday, September 25, starting at 5 p.m., with bites and cocktails to celebrate the arrival of this new spot on Duluth Avenue!
