Bobby McGee
52 Rue St-Jacques, Montreal, H2Y 1L2
Old Montreal will officially welcome its very first country bar on Wednesday, September 16. Located at 52 Saint-Jacques Street and already open for a soft opening, Bobby McGee draws inspiration from American roadhouses to bring together country, rock, and blues music, smokehouse-style cuisine, and live broadcasts of major sporting events.
With its laid-back and festive atmosphere, the new spot promises to transport visitors to Nashville for an evening. Bands will perform on stage, while giant screens will allow guests to follow major sporting events. In the basement, a billiards room with its own bar will be available to host bands and private celebrations.
In the kitchen, Chef Martin Samson-who has worked at the Four Seasons and Taverne 1909, among other places-has crafted a hearty menu inspired by smokehouses in the southern United States and Texas. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and other classics will be served on traditional aluminum trays. Mixologist Kévin Llamas rounds out the experience with a menu of signature cocktails, including the Daisy Duke Spritz, the Pop Corn Outlaw, and the Spicy Cowgirl.
Three entrepreneurs have pooled their expertise to create this new destination in Old Montreal. A well-known figure in Montreal's restaurant and nightlife scenes, Brahms Yaiche-best known for Yubari and Dînette Marcella-is responsible for the venue's concept, design, and identity. He is partnering with Sabrina Firetto, who is returning to the restaurant industry at the very same location where she began her career in Montreal, as well as with Stéphanie Girard, an entrepreneur in the construction sector and president of several companies, including Groupe BRASS.
