With a passion for restaurants and more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, Papa Elie and his son Ziad were able to create a unique family business: ZEEZ.
Ziad began his career at hospitality school and pursued a specialization in culinary arts at the Paul Bocuse Institute in France to later work in the most prestigious hotels and restaurants. Ziad is the creator of the ZEEZ menu and is responsible for quality assurance. Filled with energy and passion, you will always see him dedicated to providing the best customer service.
Papa Elie is a master of management and organization with an entrepreneurial career spanning more than 40 years. A pillar of the company, he always ensures that everything is in order and that the shift runs smoothly. In fact, you'll probably see him working on his computer at a ZEEZ table.
ZEEZ's mission is to create moments of pleasure through delicious burgers. Elie and Ziad's goal is not only to offer quality burgers using fresh, homemade ingredients, but also to make them accessible to Montrealers by offering affordable prices. 🧡
ZEEZ is widely praised for its smash burgers with juicy patties, crispy exteriors, and flavorful house sauces that make each bite memorable, with standout options like chili crisp and mushroom melt. The value is a recurring theme, thanks to affordable prices, generous portions, and a loyalty program plus student discounts that many reviewers appreciate. Free popcorn when waiting and a friendly, welcoming staff add to the experience, which many describe as cozy and casual despite the small space. While service is often praised, occasional delays during peak hours are noted, along with the compact seating that encourages takeout or outdoor options when weather allows. Vegetarian and vegan patties are appreciated by diners seeking plant-based choices, and the smashed potatoes and fries regularly receive praise for crunch and flavor. Overall, the spot is celebrated as a standout in Montreal for burgers, with repeat visits common as different menu items are explored and the vibe stays upbeat and family friendly.
We tried two burgers with vegetarian patties, & honestly, they were surprisingly good. I'm really glad to see that they offer a vegetarian option for all their burgers, so vegetarians don't have to miss out on their delicious flavors. The only improvement I'd suggest is offering an egg-free/dairy free sauce to make the burgers fully vegan.
2 Tiny smash burgers & a frozen french fries for 35$, taste is ok, but nothing special. Owners should control quality instead of letting employees let their brand down.
One of the best affordable burger spots in town. The small menu offers about four delicious, budget-friendly options. Portions are satisfying, though the burgers can be a bit greasy. With limited seating inside & out, it's best for a quick, tasty late-night crave.
Didn't meet expectations unfortunately. Not only was the service super slow but the beefy patty was super oily & for 10-12$ a burger I was expecting far better & to taste more of the meat. The onion rings were good, on the other hand. But for a burger joint with a small menu I was expecting far better. Won't be returning unfortunately.
