Visited this establishment during a work day this past week. Parking being downtown was surprisingly easy, along with it being free after 4pm till midnight. We were greeted like kings or as a part of the family. The food was spectacular, great plate presentation at a reasonable price being in the times we are in. I am able to say, that I have now been around the block a couple of times & the Gnocchi is the top 2 I have ever eaten. Including the typical Nonna's gnocchi, which ever Italian says that there Nonna is the best.

Made the mistake of choosing this establishment for dinner during my work trip a few weeks ago, where I had the misfortune of overhearing a man, who appeared to be the owner, making racist remarks about the new mayor of New York, & sharing harmful narratives regarding the muslim community. For a city that seems to take pride in its inclusivity, I unfortunately did not get that impression from this restaurant, & highly recommend against attending; regardless of your views, a restaurant is for an inviting atmosphere & respectable dining, neither of which were provided.

Unbelievable place to eat, Tomasso the owner is a awesome guy, Sandro our server was one of a kind & had some help from Emma who was also very personal, the food was fantastic, atmosphere fantastic, ambiance fantastic…..top notch place to eat in Montreal…My GF's Bday celebration was made special…thank you Vago

My parents & I have dined at Vago many, many times. It's one of our stand-by go-to neighborhood restaurants. We enjoy the ambiance, the quality of the food, the menu, & the portions. (We usually bring leftovers home with us). We find the prices reasonable. The selection of wines is darn good & they make a mean sangria, too. Oh, & the free parking in the nearby lot after 6pm is a nice bonus!
Occasionally it can get loud in the restaurant but I think it adds to the vibrancy of the place.
Tonight a new server, Christina, was our server, & she was amazing! In fact, we couldn't believe it was her first shift there. She knew the menu like the back of her hand & was a consummate professional- even dealing with my dad's many food neuroses (hey, he's 96, so he's allowed!). We all thought she was GREAT.
As usual, we had a lovely meal here. Vago is truly a neighborhood gem.

After an event last night, we were told we must try Vago for dinner before our drive back home to VT. This was quite possibly the best decision I've made - the atmosphere was elegant, clean, & comfortable, our server was very polite, our drinks were amazing, but the food... out of this world. Nothing like what we have back home. I started with the butternut squash which I could have had 3 bowls of, had perfect flavor. The gnocchi was phenomenal - to the point I want to learn how to make it at home now. I will be back, but with my whole family next time so they can have this experience as well. Thank you!

Went for a moms night out. We all absolutely loved everything we tried & have been raving about it ever since. Absolutely nothing disappointed & everyone can't wait to go back! The service was impeccable , the decor is super modern, restaurant was super clean & food amazing. Even the music was on point !

Was supposed to go to the US this weekend & plans didn't work out. Part of the trip was gonna be a stop at Olive Garden. Since we were staying here, I googled "restaurants like Olive Garden in Montreal" & this popped up so booked it. I've never had a waiter seem so disinterested in his job. The owner (I think?) was nice enough. Took our drink order. Maybe 20 mins in to our night did he come take our order to eat. They have an appetizer called Cheesy bread Circa 1890. I asked what it was. The waiter told me: it's cheesy bread. That's it. That was his explanation. I paid $42 for shrimp linguini. When the plates were served the waiter asked if we wanted cheese. My friend & I said yes. He went in the back, & then went to go bring a doggy bag to another table, & then picked up the cheese dish & brought it to the back, filled it up, & then brought it over. The whole thing was surreal. As we were leaving, we walked past the waiter & he didn't even acknowledge us. So I was like "bye have a good night!" & he finally was like oh yeah bye. I won't be VaGoing back
