About

Tian Fu specializes in authentic Szechuan cuisine characterized by the bold use of numbing peppercorns and aromatic chili oils. The menu features traditional preparations such as mapo tofu, spicy boiled fish, and stir-fried chicken with dried chilies that deliver an intense flavor profile. Each dish reflects the culinary complexity of southwestern China, emphasizing layers of heat and savory depths. The kitchen prioritizes precise heat control to maintain the distinct textures of thinly sliced meats and crisp seasonal vegetables. Guests find a focused selection of classic regional staples served in a communal format suitable for shared meals. High-quality ingredients define the approach to these pungent and savory preparations, ensuring a consistent experience for those seeking genuine spice and depth within a vibrant and direct culinary setting.

Review Summary

Tian Fu is widely recognized as a top destination for authentic and flavorful Sichuan cuisine, offering a diverse menu that appeals to adventurous eaters and meat lovers alike. While the food is frequently praised for its quality, generous portions, and consistent taste, visitors should be prepared for a very casual, cafeteria style atmosphere that can become quite loud and crowded during peak hours. Though the service is generally viewed as efficient, experiences can vary, and some patrons have noted concerns regarding cleanliness and aggressive tipping practices. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant remains a popular and affordable staple for those seeking spicy, high quality Chinese dishes in a bustling, family style environment.

nice chinese food, but sometime you need to wait

If you're looking for a typical chinese restaurant where you can order any internal parts of the 🐷 you will probably find it here. It's not easy to convince a Canadian's born to give it a try though. But, for meat lovers, you won't be disappointed.

The consistency is a 100 for me. Food always tastes great. If you like spicy food, there are plenty of choices. This is a staple restaurant for my family & we are Chinese.

It's Chinese food, nothing more nothing less. If your craving the usual food then just get this, I promise it will get the job done ✅

Worth the detour. A very authentic & pleasant place for Sichuan food! We keep coming back & saw a mix of Chinese, Asian, & local Canadians here - book your table in this popular fixture, better than those in Chinatown!

One of the best Szhechuan restaurants around Montreal. When you walk in you will notice that the clientele are always majority Asian. They know where to find good Chinese! The Sizzling Beef with Onions & Sizzling Lang with Garlic Sprouts are my favorites. Short Ribs & Squid Tentacles are also superbe. Much more I want to try there & I will certainly be back soon.

As far as the service goes, its pretty average, dont expect too much. Depends on the day, sometimes they are friendlier than others.

The atmosphere is so-so, nothing fancy. It is one large open space & you pay at the cash. It also gets pretty crowded & somewhat loud. Dont bring a first date here. Just go for the food!

The also dont have alcohol, but you can bring your own which is great!
