Review Summary

Thai Sep is described as a favorite Montreal restaurant offering authentic Lao Thai cuisine at very reasonable prices, with homemade dishes and extraordinary flavors that can feel like a culinary trip. The menu blends classics with Lao specialties, and the BYOB policy plus cash-only payments and a Tuesday deal where the second dish is half price are frequently noted. Customers praise a warm, unpretentious atmosphere powered by a family in the kitchen, with dishes such as Nem Khao, mango salad, pad Thai and Khao Soi that are described as delicious and true to their origins, and many mention the option to customize with tofu. The chili oil and overall spice level are highlighted for delivering real heat when requested. Thai Sep is often called a hidden gem with friendly staff, great flavors, affordable pricing, and a welcoming vibe that inspires repeat visits.

Great Thai restaurant with very affordable dishes! Absolutely loved the Tom Kha coconut soup, & would come back just for that! The pad kee mao & red curry were super flavourful as well!

Cash only; smaller quantity. Super prompt serving speed. I ordered the coconut soup with rice, recommended by the server, the ingredients are very fresh & healthy (peppers, eggplants & small shrimps). A little spicy or the seasoning added afterwards taste that requires to drink a lot of water. Very clean restaurant. Friendly service.

THE best Thai restaurant in Montreal. A hidden gem just in the outskirts of Villeray/border St-Michel. We absolutely ADORED everything we ordered. We were 2 & got the following: - Papaya Salad (Laos Style) - Papaya Salad (Thai Style) - Nem Khao - Pad Thai - Large Tom Yum Soup - Mango sticky rice They get a bonus point for having papaya salad with padaek sauce (Laos style papaya salad) - personally, that's the true marker of an AUTHENTIC Thai restaurant. The mango sticky rice is a must have for dessert & the place is also a BYOB. Every single bite transported me back to Thailand & I can't wait to be back soon!
