WOW .One of the best restaurants in the city of Montreal by a very long shot. We had some friends over from Florida with us & we were 6 people on a Tuesday evening & there's nothing we've had that was good. The paella was succulent, the appetizers were exquisite. From the bikini, the spinach, the mushrooms, the meatballs, the papas bravas, the cod balls & many more. Mind you, we were a mix of Haitian, Cuban, Dominican & Romanian, so when you have people from different corners of the world, agreeing on the quality of the food. Pmus the service was A5 quality.
There's no denying it. Honestly this kitchen was out of control.

If you love Spanish cuisine, this restaurant is a must-try! The service is warm & attentive from the moment you walk in, & the dishes are all fantastic-you can't go wrong. The beef tartare with crispy potato strips was amazing, & the Tapa of the Day's bread, toasted to perfection with a flavorful sauce & ham, was a standout. The seafood paella is one of the best in Montreal, with generous toppings & perfect seasoning. Don't miss the churros either-they're incredible! A great experience overall. Make sure to reserve in advance!
The ambiance is always nice. However, what happened to the food? None of the dishes tasted authentic Spanish. For instance, why would they add sweet potato purée to the octopus dish & the paella should have a crispy layer of rice underneath the pan but it felt more like a risotto as there were too much liquid... It is a restaurant serving "Spanish inspired" small plates but it felt more like French food. There are more true Spanish tapas restaurants we tried like Bocado in Prince Edward Country (few hours away from Montreal). Unfortunately, we wont be going back as we were not satisfied from the meal.
Wow! Mais quelle belle place dans le cartier de Villeray. Excellent service, serveur super gentil & charmant. Les serveurs s'entre-aident, aussi. On était deux à prendre le menu du midi, dont une qui a pris la morue & l'autre la paella. Servie avec une entrée (nous avons choisis la salade maison qui était quand même une portion généreuse). Paella était délicieuse & une portion énorme, aussi! On a débuté avec du pain & huile d'olive (je propose offrir aussi du vinaigre balsamique ou un glaze figue, même). Ma seule irritation était qu'on versé les verre de vins "à peu près". Donc pas de précision pour les onces exactes, comme on arrive à la table & on verse approximativement. Ex: un couple dans le coin ont demandé un deuxième verre de vin, alors qu'il y en avait déjà un peu dans le fond de leur coupe. Le serveur a rempli (en laissant peut être un once ou deux dans le fond de la bouteille de vin)... Donc, les clients ont été sûrement étés chargés un deuxième verre, alors qu'il leur en restait dans le fond. Change de verre, mesure comme il faut, donne la quantité pour laquelle ont paye...

En couple pour la st valentin on a diné. Le veau était tres dur a mastiquer. Il était cuisiné avec du vinaigre (gout desagreable pour nous . L,agneau & la poelée de champignon étaient aussi tres vinaigrés!!! Par contre les tartares de saumon & de boeuf étaient a la hauteur de la reputation de ce resto. On a commandé une paella du soir pour 2 aemporter (70$) . On nous a refilé celle du midi moins chere & sans les petoncles du soir.J ai tel & laissé au repondeur description detaillée du probleme ...demandé des explication & un retour d'appel du patron. Pas de retour d:appel depuis 2 jours...(erreur ou fraude? speculez!) La paelle pour 2 n'avait pas la quantité pour satisfaire un appetit moyen....La cuisine est lente...La serveuse super..s'excuse du délai des cuisines & nous renseigne bien...attentionnée...Un conseil si vous n'aimez pas le vinaigre a profusion :méfiez vous!!!...
Première visite à Tapeo un samedi en soirée. Très belle ambiance & serveurs très attentionnés qui prennent le temps de décrire tous les plats avant la dégustation + service A++. Également, service relativement rapide considération l'achalandage du samedi soir. Finalement, au niveau du goût, tout était succulents, particulièrement la bavette de veau & la Paella. Recommande fortement cette place.
We had an incredible experience at Tapeo. We really enjoyed the wine list & our server was able to make pairing recommendations based on what we ordered. We had a lot of tapas & then the half portion of paella, churros & espresso martinis for dessert. Everything was perfect- but our favourite dishes were the Spanish omelette, piri piri chicken, paella, & beef tartare. The atmosphere was on point & our server was awesome! We loved it & will be back.
Heureusement que nous sommes arrivés tôt pour le dîner car l'endroit est très fréquenté & nécessite une réservation. Au menu du jour, on offrait une longe de porc qui, m'a-t-on dit, était délicieuse. Mon ami & moi avons pris chacun une paëlla délectable aux crevettes géantes, calmar, pétoncles & couscous. La crème brulée au goût léger & délicat d'orange & des churros au chocolat complétaient bien les repas accompagnés de café cappuccino savoureux. C'était une première pour moi & ce ne sera pas la dernière. Bon appétit!

Je dois précisé que je n'ai pas eu à assaisonner de tout le repas! Qui à mon habitude est I M P O S S I B L E.
Belle ambiance chaleureuse, la musique de fond R&B était très bonne...
Prix justifiés! Bonne qualité!

Ahh Tapeo. I would like to like it. Vibrant ambiance, good location, good crowd. Undercooked paella, a little skimpy on the portions, & many dishes came lukewarm. Mixed feelings when i saw our bill... not my favorite on the quality/value scale. Alas, there are so many choices in Montreal, it's hard not to have established favorites to compare against. Still, overall a decent place to get together for a couple of snacks & drinks, go in with some flex dollars & you could probably have a great time.
