The new location across the street is a big upgrade from where they used to be & it's much nicer ambiance. The coffee is good, the pastries are really good I loved the brownie & the berry cake was surprisingly delicious. The music was a bit too loud for my liking, just enough to be difficult to tune out or have a clear thought while enjoying a good coffee.
Love this place, delicious sandwiches & coffee. Ordered a Milanais sandwich & cold americano, it was very, very good. Thank you to all the people working here ;)
Bonjour ! Bon, OK : je suis arrêté ici l'autre jour sans rien connaître de la place. En fait, je suis d'abord entré dans leur épicerie en face, qui avait l'air vraiment intéressante de l'extérieur. Une fois dedans, j'ai trouvé ça plus beau que pratique. Le gars derrière le comptoir m'a alors dit qu'on devrait aller au café de l'autre côté de la rue. Même nom, même propriétaire.
Très beau grand café à sandwichs italiens, moderne, propre, vraiment dans mes goûts.
J'ai commandé le spécial (végétarien), pas parce que je voulais quelque chose de végétarien, mais parce que ç'avais l'aire incroyable. Ils utilisent du Fior di Crema au lieu du Fior di Latte, & ça, ça m'a vraiment intrigué.
Ça vient avec tomates, roquette & réduction balsamique.
Pourquoi j'ai donné 4 étoiles pour le service ? Eh bien, j'ai passé ma commande & ensuite… genre..le néant. Je ne voyais rien. Tout se faisait dans la cuisine, loin des regards, pas de place confortable pour attendre... Personnellement, ça m'a un peu frustré. Presque toutes les autres places à sandwichs italiens préparent les sandwichs devant les clients & il y a un endroit pour voir & attendre.
Bref, un délai très raisonnable plus tard, quelqu'un est sorti avec le sandwich tout emballé, comme un mystère. Aussi, il n'y a pas de photos, rien… on ne sait même pas quel type de pain ils utilisent, quelle taille, rien du tout… encore une fois, un peu frustrant.
Je l'ai pris pour emporter parce que ce n'était pas un arrêt prévu…
Je n'ai pas eu le temps de l'ouvrir avant d'être rendu chez moi, 22 minutes plus tard…
& là… la magie a commencé.
J'ai essayé de prendre une photo, mais je l'ai mangé trop vite ;-)
Le Fior di Crema est définitivement ma découverte préférée des 10 dernières années… où étais-tu caché ?
Les tomates étaient coupées en gros morceaux… tellement bon, beaucoup de roquette, & le glaçage balsamique était parfait. Le pain, bien, c'était un petit pain de style italien. Le sandwich est dans la section froide, mais le pain était grillé à l'extérieur ou sortait directement du four… super belle touche.
On va définitivement retourner.

Hello ! OK: so, stopped in the other day, did not know anything about the place, actually went in to their épicerie across the street that looked very interesting from outside. Went in & found it to be more forme than function. Then the guy behind the counter said we shop go to the café across the street. Both the same name & owner.
Very nice big beautiful modern clean Italian sandwich Café. Right up my alley.
I ordered the Special (vegetarian) not because I wanted vegetarian but because it sounded awesome. They have Fior di Crema as opposed to Fior di Laté which really intrigued me.
Comes with tomatoes, roquette & a balsamic reduction.
Why I gave 4 stars for service.. well, I placed the order & then... waited I could not see anything.. it was all done in the kitchen far from view. Personally.. I was a little frustrated. almost all the other Italian Sandwich joints prepare the sandwich within view of the customers.
So, a very reasonable time later, someone came out with the sandwich all wrapped up, like a mystery. Also, no pictures, nothing.. we don't know what kind of bread is being used, what size .. nothing... again. frustrating.
Took it to go because this was not a planned stop...
Didn't have time to open it until I got home, 22 minutes later..
Then the magic happened.
I tried to take a picture but I ate it too fast ;-)
Fior di Crema is definitely my most favorite thing to discover in the past 10 years of my life... where have you been !
Tomatoes were cut into chunks.. so awesome, lots of arugula (Roquette) & the Balsamic glaze was perfect.. The bread, well, it was an Italian style bun. This sandwich is in the Cold section, but the bun was toasted on the outside or straight from the oven.. super nice touch.
