Had an incredible time here today for dinner! David was a great server & the food was amazing, generous portions, & the drinks were great too! Highly recommend the Santorini sangria
Food was good, but service could've been better. I went there with my family (20 ppl in total) & we sat in different tables. After we paid some of us went inside to go to the washroom while the rest waited outside. As I was going out, a waitress dropped several glasses on me by accident, I was completely wet & my ankle got cut with the shards of glass. Even though it was an accident she didn't even say sorry & looked irritated when I was helping her pick up the broken glasses as if I had provoked it. One of my family members who was inside heard that she told her boss that it had been my fault when it wasn't. The rest of my family who was outside (10 ppl) saw everything & they told me that she was struggling with the platter of glasses since she picked them from the table, she just happened to finally drop them on me as I was going out & she was gong in. They later told me that she was the one that waitered one of our tables & had a bad attitude all throughout lunch. It was my first day at Montreal & it really ruined the rest of the day for me, not the accident itself, but the lack of empathy, attention & good service; just a sincere'sorry' would've made the difference. I really hope it was an isolated bad service event, as the waitress who was in charge of my table was actually very nice.
To me, the customer experience begins the moment you arrive at the door & continues until you leave the restaurant. That overall experience is what makes people want to return or never come back.
Unfortunately, my experience wasn't the most pleasant. The initial greeting was fine. My wife & I were seated, given our menus, & a few minutes later the waitress came to take our order.
Shortly afterward, the table next to us was seated with four guests. The same waitress greeted them, brought them menus, cutlery, & water. Meanwhile, our table still had no water or cutlery. A few moments later, another staff member brought our food, & we still hadn't received either. I had to ask for them myself.
Some people may not mind, but to me, attention to these basic details is part of good customer service. It made me feel overlooked.
When we left, there was no'Thank you,''Have a nice day,' or'We hope to see you again.' It's a small gesture, but it leaves a lasting impression, & its absence reinforced the overall experience.
If you're looking for a restaurant in Old Montreal with good food, this place delivers. However, if attentive & welcoming service is important to you, you may want to consider other options.
I usually enjoy Souvlaki's food at the Dix30 & Saint-Jean locations, but this was my first time trying this location. I ordered the Zeus poutine, & it neither looked nor tasted like the one I usually get. I was disappointed.
