Au cours de sa tournée nord-américaine, la Superstar grecque Mihalis Hatzigiannis a découvert Melina Mammas, une jeune chanteuse grecque canadienne, fille de Lawrence Mammas, et a été invitée à dîner à La Belle & La Boeuf où il a été tellement impressionné par le groupe qu’il a proposé un partenariat pour apporter une cuisine authentique grecque Souvlaki, avec un concept Foodtastic à Montréal. Voilà que Souvlaki Bar est né, ouvrant notre premier magasin le 12 septembre 2014. Plus de 5000 personnes ont assisté à la grande fête d’ouverture où Mihalis et Melina ont joué à l’extérieur devant plusieurs fans heureux. Tonight was my third time at this specific location. The service was excellent. The portions are good. The sauce they serve with the fried calamari tastes cheap (yellow mustard mixed with mayo & mayo+ketchup: not very Greek, if you ask me).
We ordered the half chicken plate. The chicken was quite bland; there were barely any spices or garlic or lemon on the skin.
Their salad dressing is disappointing. It's bland & uninteresting (you don't taste that punch from olive oil, garlic, lemon & oregano you usually find in an authentic Greek dressing).
Their rice is usually good, but tonight, it was bland & more like cafeteria rice.
Finally, during a previous visit, I ordered a chicken souvlaki pita & tonight, I asked some tzatziki on the side & I can say without a doubt that there is something off with their tzatziki. I can't put my finger on it, but it is something I make regularly at home & that I ate at other Greek restaurants & theirs doesn't taste good.
This restaurant has great potential, but you can feel some laziness in the kitchen (or maybe in the administration?) because they tend to cut corners & they don't serve authentic Greek food.
EDIT, MARCH 26, 2026: Lately, I ordered the fillet of sole, a dish I had ordered several times before. They ALWAYS served TWO fillets of sole per plate. This time, though, they put ONLY ONE (probably thinking that their customers wouldn't realize it!). On top of that, instead of the mesclun lettuce they usually serve, they had the nerve to make their salad with ICEBERG lettuce!! That was it, for me. Never again. I will spend my money elsewhere.
We ordered through uber eats honestly very tasty. The tzatziki is phenomenal. However i would have liked a full pita instead of just a half that came with my plate, in general it felt like a small amount of food, we ordered from here for the first time because of the 2 for 1 deal on uber eats but if we had to pay full price we would have been disappointed.
We had a wonderful experience at this souvlaki restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, & full of flavor. The atmosphere is very warm & cozy, which made the whole meal even more enjoyable.
I especially loved the real green plants in the space, it feels so much nicer & more natural compared to many other locations that only use artificial plants. The photos & memories displayed on the walls were also very interesting & gave the place a unique & welcoming character.
& of course, the young woman who served our table was very friendly, which made our visit even better.
We truly enjoyed our time here & will definitely come back.

Mes amies & moi sommes allées dîner samedi, ce fut une très belle expérience! La serveuse Sylvia est excellente & très sympathique! Elle nous a bien conseillé & son service était impeccable.
Je suis en fauteuil roulant & je n'ai eu aucun problème avec l'accessibilité, le stationnement ainsi que le salle de bain. Très bon repas & une belle variété de cocktails!
J'ai commandé une salade je l'ouvre je tombe sur cet insecte vert de la même couleur que la salade . On voit à quel point il prenne le temp de bien laver leur produit avant de les servir à leur client.
Une chance pr moi je les remarquer avant de manger. Probablement que d'autre client ont manger une salade avec le même insecte dedans & ne le sauront jamais.
