I liked Snowdon Deli!
Tried the matzo ball soup which was delicious with a nice clear broth, an old fashioned style meat sandwich with a mix of fatty & lean, & a side of pickles. The sandwich was stuffed with meat that fell apart & was well seasoned but slightly too salted for my taste. I liked the pickle, you could tell they were nicely done but not crispy enough for me.
It was a a good experience & the servers were super awesome & happy. Definitely a Montreal staple.
I like this place better than Schwartz for the food & homestyle vibe. Amazing poutine & corned beef. Outstanding.
Un des meilleurs smoked-meat a Montréal. Dommage qu'ils ferment si tôt.
This deli was great. Great food, friendly staff, & decent prices. Highly recommend visiting this'almost Kosher' (no pork) deli for breakfast or lunch!
Great spot to get the Montreal smoked meat sandwich. The sandwich is solid & the combination of smoked meat, bread, & mustard is delicious. My brother & I also tried poutine from here which was pretty solid too. Service was excellent, our waitress was super friendly & did a great job with anything that was needed on our end, I would give six stars if I could for the service. The atmosphere was pretty nice, felt like a classic spot that you could tell was loved by the community. Definitely would recommend coming here.
Unique atmosphere of a Jewish deli. Fast, straight forward. Best chopped liver anywhere, all the usual goodies. Good kreplach
I recently bought aged Karnatzel as I have done for many years & it seems obvious to me that Snowdon Deli has changed their supplier. It was alwsys my favorite treat & now it tastes like rubber with no depth of taste whatsoever.. sad as Karnatzel is such a staple in deli purchases
Old run down, mediocre service. No cheesecake! Smoke meat still best ever.
Smoked meat & Lox are very good lunch options. Always love picking up the party sandwiches. Usually fresh & tasty Jewish food with quick service. Also the eggplant 🍆 salad is amazing.
My family & I love coming here. The vibe is old school, & nostalgic. The bagel & lox is a absolutely delicious. The home potatoes & pancakes are excellent. We always enjoy our meals when we come regardless of what we order. The service is warm & friendly. Definitely one of our top breakfast places.
I thought I had the best sandwich in Montreal. But Snowdon was excellent. The vibe, the wonderful servers made this just a great experience. Look forward to visiting everytime I am in the city.
I'd say that this is the best smoked meat sandwich that I ever had. It was extremely moist, tender, & had a ton of flavor. Their pickles were also excellent & true fermented deli pickles. If you're from NY or NJ, you'd love this place.
Après 3 pm on doit commander au comptoir (style cafeteria) & manger sur place si on veut mais pas de service aux tables.
Classic deli with a great smoked meat sandwich. Was smaller than I was expecting, but full of flavour. The meat was so tender. The matzo ball soup & potato salad were also great.
What a great old school deli. I have heard about it for many years & finally had the opportunity to try it.
The smoked meat medium was melt in your mouth & the fries were also excellent!
I will definitely be back soon.
Today in Montreal .
I'd spent a considerable amount of time researching kosher delis in Montréal. I settled on Snowdons. Far enough off the track to lose the tourist lines & it had cred 🤷🏼?♂?.
Walked to the metro to find the system was locked out due to the strike . But the train wasn't. So we took the train to Lachine ? No busses. The deli was 2.9 km away . On foot. A pilgrimage with KA . We pushed on ! 😄
Snowdons didn't disappoint. Smoked meat sandwiches, kniches , half sour pickles , coleslaw , cucumber salad .
All the Jewish greatest hits . But, the surprise turned out to be the meat balls in sauce with fries. Jewtine we called it. Unbeatable . Oh, & Karneatzel . & Flieschers cherry coke !
The staff were so accommodating. We were inquisitive & clueless . We were given chopped liver on rye to see if we liked it & ended up buying a bunch of stuff for the hotel ❤?
What an experience .
