Amazing restaurant with delicious juicy dumplings. But you removed sparkling water from the menu :'-(. Please bring sparkling water back & I'll gladly put 5 stars back.
All our stuff came extremely fast. The waitress was fast accurate & honest. She gave us someone elses food but gave us an extra one. Also, there was alot of space & there was nice decorations. The food was great except the tofu & vegetables.Highly recommend the xiao long baos
I have gone to the Sammi & Soup locations downtown & in chinatown numerous times & was never disappointed. I was in the CDN area & thought this would be a safe bet since I love their dumplings so much! Unfortunately, the dumplings at this location tasted so off! I don't know if the dumplings had been frozen, or if the ingredients were old or something... but it just did not taste like the dumplings I've had at other locations. The dishes were also dirty? It was just bad. I don't know if perhaps it was just an off day, but in any case, I won't comeback to the CDN location.
I recently visited Sammi & Soup Dumplin & overall, I found the experience to be average. The food was okay, but it didn't stand out or leave a lasting impression. The dumplings were decent, the service was satisfactory, & the ambiance was pleasant. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but it might be worth a try if you're in the area.
This restaurant gave us a surprise at Father's day today. We ordered 3 diff soup dumpling - regular, coriander, & shrimp. All tastes great. My daughter preferred shrimps. All of us - two adults & two kids emptied 4 plates - added another shrimps at end. Highly recommend.
It's not as good as I expected. They are comparable to the ones bought at Costco. Also, watch out for their prices. The prices displayed on their menu are $2 cheaper. You actually pay more when you check out.
I went with my girlfriend. Right off the bat, this place is not a restaurant, it is a takeout with a few tables. No matter. We sat down & waited for our waitress. Service was slow from the get-go. We order steamed dumplings & fried ones. We waited around 30mins to get them, when other tables got their order in 10mins. It would be no worries if this was a packed restaurant, except it wasn't - we were one of 3 tables seated. Food gets here. You know the grocery store dumplings? I would say they were comparable. Less greasy, but comparable. I got the chicken cabbage, & I am pretty sure there was absolutely no cabbage in it. My girlfriend got xiao long bao, & the filling was unseasoned, the soup was fatty. We eat & wait 20 mins for someone to come pick up our plates, you know, as one expects when eating in a restaurant. An employee comes to give food to people who arrived after we got our food. Looks at us, doesn't bother asking us if we were done. I just got up, paid for our food at the counter & we left. Terrible service, beyond-average unseasoned food. This was one of my most disappointing experiences eating out in Montreal. The Sammi in Chinatown is uber-busy, which is why one would understand having to pay at the counter. But we were just a few tables seated. I'll get my dumplings frozen from metro next time. Not worth it.
