Saiko earns praise for superb fish quality, fresh sushi and sashimi, with many calling it the best sushi in Montreal and even Laval, offered at a reasonable price. The atmosphere is described as amazing and the service friendly and attentive, with guests noting careful handling of dietary restrictions and gluten free options. Omakase experiences and chef selections are highlighted as wow moments, and the wine list, including a Riesling, receives compliments. The restaurant's location near the walking street and proximity to events like Otakuthon are mentioned as convenient. Some reviewers note a slower pace when the dining room is busy or a single server is on shift, and a beef dish was not as tender as hoped. Overall, the reviews point to Saiko as a reliable destination for authentic Japanese flavors, consistent quality, and a welcoming environment.
I highly recommend Saiko when you're not in a hurry.
Food was excellent; service was friendly & accurate (i.e., got the order right), but it took quite a while to get our food even though the restaurant was mostly empty.
Such a lovely place & such a lovely atmosphere. Some of the best service I've had. I'm a student & this was a nice splurge meal to have for an anniversary, we left full at good value per person with amazing service & a good atmosphere. Thank you Saiko!
We have been here for lunch. The food was delicious. The service was also very good, friendly staff. It's my first sushi in Montreal. I can recommend this restaurant.
This was probably my best sushi experience, ever. It was so good the first time, I came in again the next night with my wife. The staff here are just awesome, Shing-Ichi especially. They've been making sushi for decades & their dedication is evident in the experience. My suggestion is to go to the bar, & order the Chef's Choice, where they will provide a selection of Nigiri that will knock your socks off.
Une explosion de saveurs Les meilleurs sushis que j'ai mangé Sincèrement superbe découverte pour nous avec nos amis de la France tous d'accord les meilleurs !
A great sushi restaurant in downtown Montreal. Lunch Tuesday to Thursday, dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Please note they'll be closed for lunch from July 30 until mid August.
It's one of the most fresh & delightful Japanese dishes I have ever tasted. Not only it's authentic, the food is well matched with each other. Will definitely come back again.
Descent sushi, not a lot of selection on the menu. The quality & price of the meals are reasonable in my opinion. Not a particular aesthetic restaurant & was pretty empty on a Thursday evening
