We loved their double chocolate cake, but it's no longer available. We tried the Chocolate Nutella Cake instead, & it was delicious. Keep in mind that their cakes tend to be quite sweet & usually have a thick layer of cream, so they're ideal if you enjoy rich, creamy desserts.
Usually, we take one slice for two to share.
A recommendation: if you go there for the first time, check the section of what you want to order before ordering it.
Good thing they close at 8, that way it limits the number of times I can go there after work. Those cakes are simply addictive.
Always come here for cake/pie pickups for the family. No complaints. Quick & easy each time. Also called the shop asking for a specific flavor which they kindly help answer.
Bought the Apple crumb cheese cake. Not what it used to be. Not much apple, the crumb & crust have changed so much. Has no flavour anymore, other than sugar.
Sadly it used to be so good! Very disappointing.
Really nice experience at Rockaberry. The staff is super friendly & welcoming, & you can tell they care. The prices are fair for the quality of the cakes. They are always fresh & really good.
Tried the brownie cake for my birthday. The icing is incredibly way too much, not nearly enough cake. Will never buy it again. Did not mind paying more for a fancy cake. These are not cheap cakes, but what a rip off. I wanted a cake… not icing.
See photo with the remaining icing. I can put the rest on a WHOLE other cake. I'm so pissed.
I had an event in which I needed a really good cake, so I selected this place solely based on the review score of 4.5 out of 5. Getting to the place, it's a pretty small hole-in-the-wall shop, & the cake prices were pretty high at $40+tax for a medium cake.
But sure , I needed something good & with this price & the high score, I couldn't go wrong.. right? Well..... Let's just say I'm still scratching my head, trying to understand either the $40 or the 4.5!
First of all, the cake doesn't really look that good. For this price, you expect something that not only tastes amazing but also bewilder the eyes. But the red velvet I bought just looked like a white round heap with some sprinkles on top of an aluminum tray. Extremely simple. But hey, looks are deceptive. Maybe in its simplicity, something really authentic & genuine is hidden. My impression was the opposite. The cake part wasn't bad but wasn't $40 good either. The filling was pretty meh also! But the worst was the icing, like you were chewing pure sugar. Like a cheap kids' birthday cake. Very artificial. Maybe that's the Canadian taste? I don't know. I say this because the icing also reminded me of the snack cakes you can buy at depanneurs, like jos louis & others, that canadians love, & to me, taste terrible. Very artificial. So, maybe all the other reviews are not wrong. Maybe it's just not for me. To me, this is a cheap $15 kids birthday cake you'd buy at a supermarket because you are out of time. Not an expensive premium $40 adult cake.
On the plus side, the staff was VERY friendly, & the black cardboard box the cake comes in is pretty cool.
