Restaurant VIP is widely regarded as a staple for authentic and nostalgic Chinese cuisine in Montreal, consistently praised for its generous portion sizes and flavorful dishes like ginger lobster, Cantonese chow mein, and General Tao chicken. Many diners appreciate the value for the price, the reliable consistency of the kitchen, and the thoughtful service touches such as complimentary tea and sliced oranges. The wonton soup was good, but the "chicken" in the fried rice & noodles tasted weird.

Best Chinese food restaurant in Montreal for Beef & Chinese broccoli; Cantonaise chow mein; Chicken fried rice; Sweet & sour pork; & Lemon chicken! Since coming from Vancouver I have been searching for a good, tasty restaurant & I'm so grateful I found this one. As soon as I walked in the door on New Years Eve at 7pm, I was warmly greeted. Without a reservation, I was still seated promptly & served water & tea instantly. The servers were kind, friendly, & super efficient. The food came out within a decent timeframe considering how busy it was. It was all truly delicious. We ate enough to be full at the dinner table & we both had enough to take-out for full meals later on. I also appreciated the freshly cut oranges at the end of meal. A sweet way to end a great time here.

Excellent place to eat Chinese food. The service was very fast & very nice always smiling. The food was really good. We ordered Beef Chop suey, General Tao Chicken, beef sizzling, beef chow mein & (1) big portion of steam rice that is enough for 6 or even 7 people. Prices are very good & portions are big. Totally recommended. Prices between $15 to $ 22 per dish.
