Review Summary

Restaurant Papa is described in reviews as delivering authentic, homestyle Filipino cuisine with generous portions and affordable prices, a cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and dishes that feel like a home cooked meal, with standouts like crispy pata and jackfruit and even a flavorful, colorful dessert drink. At the same time, some orders raise concerns about allergy safety and food quality, including pre ordered meals that contained eggs despite requests, leftovers in adobo and pancit, and a fatty adobo with too many noodles relative to vegetables; a few comments also mention service lapses and a suggestion to limit orders to better respect allergy needs. Overall, the place remains a welcoming go to for comfort food, open on Tuesday mornings and praised for authenticity, generous portions, and value, though guests advise improving allergy awareness and consistency to maintain the home style experience.

If you want the authentic & affordable Filipino cuisine, restaurant papas is the place to be! It is my favorite filipino restaurant here in Montreal. The serving is huge, staff are super nice & funny & the atmosphere gives a carinderia & turo turo vibes from home! Everything is delish & my favorites are liempo, pata, pakbet, laing, fried fish, humba, papaitan & many more.

Comforting food, tastes like home 🇵🇭. The $15 combo is a great deal as it comes with two dishes, rice & a drink. The adobo was flavourful, sinigang was sour & the turon was a great way to finish off the meal. The tito & titas were very nice & friendly. The cafeteria style reminded me so much of the Filipino karinderia. The restaurant is quite spacious, lots of seating & tall ceilings. Will definitely be coming back & bringing friends here!

If you're Filipino & familiar with "turo-turo", this is exactly it, a genuine no-frills turo-turo place from folks up in the northern region of the Philippines serving up affordable & great tasting dishes. If you aren't Filipino, just know that the dishes here are genuine. We got two entrees with rice, a halo-halo (cold dessert) & a bunch of turon (banana dessert). The halo-halo was creamy & wasn't too sweet. The turon seems to be the best seller since there were a bunch of folks coming in & out ordering it to go, it did taste great when we ate it at the restaurant & tasted great even the day after.
