Restaurant Le Richmond focuses on the preparation of authentic Italian cuisine characterized by a strong commitment to market-fresh ingredients and seasonal produce. The menu emphasizes traditional techniques applied to high-quality proteins and handmade pastas that define the regional heritage of Italy. Dedicated kitchen protocols ensure a variety of gluten-free options remain accessible without compromising the integrity of the original recipes or flavor profiles. The environment features an industrial aesthetic with high ceilings and expansive architectural elements that frame the open layout. Diners interact within a space designed for functional flow and visual transparency across the culinary preparation areas. This approach results in a consistent experience centered on ingredient provenance and technical precision in every dish served. The establishment maintains a sharp focus on culinary clarity and operational excellence for its patrons.
Le Richmond is widely celebrated for its stunning, elegant atmosphere and versatile space, making it a popular choice for weddings, birthdays, and social gatherings. Many guests praise the delicious Italian-inspired menu, highlighting the fresh pasta, savory steaks, and curated brunch offerings, while the service is frequently described as professional, warm, and attentive. Although a few visitors experienced inconsistencies with food preparation or crowded seating during peak holiday times, the majority of diners appreciate the vibrant energy and stylish décor. Whether visiting for a casual meal or a large-scale event, most patrons find the overall experience to be memorable and highly recommend the venue for its unique charm and hospitality.
We held a private event here in the spring for approximately 150 guests, using both the indoor space & the outdoor area with the retractable roof. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing.
1. The heating: The heaters in the outdoor space were left on despite the warm spring weather, making the area unbearably hot. Guests were sweating, & we had to ask multiple times for the heat to be turned off. It took about 45 minutes & several follow-ups before they finally did.
2. Meal accommodation: One of our guests was pregnant & was unable to eat the meal she had originally selected. She asked if she could switch to the vegetarian option, & the staff agreed. However, after everyone else had finished eating, she still had not been served. When we followed up, we were told they hadn't prepared any vegetarian meals because no one had originally selected that option, & they didn't have the necessary ingredients. It was disappointing, especially after they had agreed to accommodate her request.
3. Main course issue: We were informed that there had been an accident in the kitchen & about 20 osso bucco meals were no longer edible. Those guests were instead served lamb chops. While we understand that accidents happen, lamb chops had already been served as one of the appetizers, meaning some guests ended up eating the same dish twice.
4. Valet service: This was the most frustrating part of the experience. We paid for valet parking through the venue, yet about a month later we received a $100 parking ticket from the City of Montreal stating that our vehicle had not been authorized to park there. It took weeks of follow-ups, multiple unfulfilled promises, & persistent calls & messages before we were finally reimbursed-nearly two months after our event.
The positives are that the food was good & the venue is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, everything else was a headache. For a venue hosting private events, we expected much better organization, communication, & customer service.
We hosted our engagement party (140 guests) at Le Richmond last weekend, & we are still completely speechless over how incredible the experience was from beginning to end.
From our very first interaction, Patricia guided us with such care, confidence, & warmth. She made the entire event feel effortless on our side, allowing us to be fully present with our guests & truly enjoy every moment without ever worrying about logistics.
The entire staff was beyond attentive & welcoming. They anticipated guests' needs so naturally & interacted with everyone in such a genuine & heartfelt way.
The food was exceptional & received endless compliments from our guests. The sweet table was absolutely stunning, beautifully presented down to every detail, & the valet team took such amazing care of everyone as well.
Thank you to Patricia, the chef, the kitchen team, the servers, & everyone at Le Richmond for giving us memories we will cherish forever. This venue is stunning in many ways & we cannot wait to be back!
Restaurant was quiet, but romantic atmosphere, welcoming & warm. We were surprised as it was quite busy last time we came. Chef is from Rome & pasta is homemade. They have a huge wheel of Grana Padano for their pasta flambee, if you want something a bit showy for dinner (in our case, for a birthday celebration).
We ordered the antipasto plate to start, each took different plates for the meal, a few glasses of wine & 2 desserts to share.
Menu is well curated, & feels very authentic. The only downside was the selection of bread they offer at the beginning, some type of dry bun - we would've preffered ciabatta or foccacia, & served warm. Otherwise, we were really stuffed & enjoyed the meal & atmosphere!
After years of dining here, it's been 2 times in a row where it displeases me to say that I think they're done. Last time was low season so I chalked it up to a skeleton staff that needed a break post-holiday. Tonight, however, sealed the deal & this is the last time I'm dining there. For appetizers, we ordered the burrata, the charcuterie, & the oysters. The oysters were small & dry, the charcuterie was disappointing as it was filled with nuts & not much else.
For mains, we ordered a 42 oz steak, the ravioli, & a pasta. After waiting between 30-40 minutes for the mains, the meat & ravioli were cold & the pasta wasn't good. The waitress did offer a dessert or coffee but we just wanted to leave by that point. It's too bad, I really used to like this place but after 2 disappointing meals, I'm done.
