Review Summary

Overall, Restaurant Le Goût du Sud draws a largely positive picture from reviews of its Haitian offerings, with praise for dishes like griot, accras, pikliz, cabrit, poisson, and poutine griot, for generous portions, fresh ingredients, and reasonable prices; several comments note tender meat, flavorful seasoning, and sides such as riz collé and well cooked plantains. Some visits are described as inconsistent, for example absence of pikliz, burnt riz collé, or dishes not always matching the order, while other evenings are said to be satisfying and inviting guests to return; the overall tone suggests a solid creole option, with a few isolated disappointments, leaving many diners eager to come back to try more dishes.

I never tried Haiti food! But I know very well the rice with beans & plantain! Fry pork very well too!! Is basically central South America base food!! This food needs some refining! The people are great & they are trying! But can be better!! I will come back to try something else of the menu!

Subpar Haitian food. Rice tasted burnt, plantain overcooked (rock hard). For me, worth going a little further to a competitor.

I have to echo what others have already said - service, especially over the phone, leaves much to be desired. However, I must give credit where it's due - the food here is delicious & served in generous portions. Although I found the Griot plate a tad pricey, even by today's standards (considering it consists of rice, plantains, & fried pork). I remain hopeful that they can improve in the service department. With some refinement, this place could truly shine.
