We didn't feel like waiting in line at a neighbouring restaurant, so we picked this restaurant right next door. It was after the lunch rush. As soon as we walked it, an employee loudly complained about it never ending. I found it quite rude & shocking but said nothing in the hopes he wasn't referring to more customers arriving. I did check the restaurant's opening hours online just in case they were closed from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., but it said they were open. I even asked an employee if they were open to be extra sure. I hope we weren't intruding. If we were, they could have just pretended they were closed. The restaurant was almost empty save for a table of customers & 4 employees. An employee seated us right away,... next to a container that was catching water from the dripping air conditioner. An odd choice considering that all the other tables were free. After a few minutes, the employee from the beginning came to take our order. He & 2 other employees brought the entrées, main meal, drinks & dessert. The wait staff checked in & made sure we had everything we needed. The chicken was crispy & perfectly seasoned on the outside & tender & juicy on the inside. It paired perfectly with the soft bread from the table basket. I couldn't get enough of the thick, crispy-&-soft homemade potato chips with skins on the edges (portuguese potatoes). They're addictive. The pastel de nata (egg tart) was rich & flaky, & fresh custard oozed out with every bite. The flan was okay, but we were expecting a fully intact wedge like in the picture, & instead it looked as though someone had taken a big bite out of the tip. The kitchen should consider cutting it in a different shape. The decor, music & nature scenes were calming. I think we just caught the staff on an off moment.
Walked in here to find a quick place to eat, & I was pleasantly surprised at the fast service & the delicious charcoal grilled chicken platters. I had to come back for more with my family, they all loved it! Great service & great food! Pastel de Nata is the best I ever had
Visited this place many times since I was living in Montreal & now revisiting again..& all I can say..solid experience as always Great food.. amazing staff & service Ordered half a chicken..comes with salad & fries...all perfect We also tried the grilled shrimps & they were great
We decided on a last-minute meal of chicken & salad, & this place didn't disappoint. We were seated quickly. The grilled chicken roasted to pretty perfect, not dry, the fries were crispy & delicious, the warm bread crunchy & although the salad had a bit too much vinegar, still tasty. & that hot spice tho! While the food was tasty , our waiter was rude, slow, & inattentive. Had to ask for water ,utensils & the bill , 2x's. Fortunately, another younger waiter who brought our food , provided excellent service with a smile. Overall, imo, this was one of the two best fast food Portuguese chicken in Montreal. Coco Rico being the other.
One of the only restaurants left in Montreal that still has the same portion size from 2019. Price went up a titch, but that's to be expected. Still phenomenal. Great chicken, amazing ribs, love the spicy house sauce. Highly recommend.

Love the chicken breast meal with chips. Tastes amazing with the right amount of Portuguese spiced sauce. Service was great with great attention to its customers. Never disappointed great price & would recommend it.
Probably some of the best food I've ever had in my life. Went with my Portuguese friend, & he loved it too. The chicken was amazing, & I don't know what they did to those peppers but they were to die fo
We popped into Restaurant Jano after we spied the board out front advertising chicken quarters. We were happy to see many other delicious entrees on the menu. I ordered what turned out to be perhaps the most delicious lamb chops I've had in my life (one of my favorites whenever I have the choice). The host was welcoming & made us feel relaxed right away. The bill was surprisingly small for such good food. I could not feel any better about this place. 6 out of 5 stars.

Big fan of Portugal, we've tested yesterday this restaurant that was well noted. Honestly, even though I like Portuguese food, the chicken was awfully dry, the fries were there to fill your stomach than anything & the wine was flat
The best Portuguese restaurant . The chicken is amazing , very close to what we eat in Portugal . I always order from there & I never regret . The food is always good & fresh . Obrigada pelo pao , faz me lembrar muito de casa :)
We ordered from Uber-eats, & the food was obviously old & had been warmed up. The chicken was almost burnt, & the chips were too salty. Disappointing experience.

I came here after watching a video suggesting to visit this restaurant. As I entered, we got seated right away. The place had a good amount of locals dining in. The service was great at the beginning but after food was served it was pretty slow. It took a while for us to get the bill as there was only 2 waiters.
We got the half leg with fries & the combo w chicken & pork. You get a salad & the dressing was amazing! I got the soup, it was good & different. Also ordered, the sangria (tasted like juice), flan (definitely not my favorite - it was just too bitter).
The chicken leg is hands down the best I’ve had - always so tender & tasty! If you haven’t tried Portuguese chicken, this is definitely the place to go. You also definitely need to get a Nata dessert to top it all off - they’re not too heavy & just the right amount of custardy yumminess! :)
Nice atmosphere... Tables are close to each other but sat next to a lovely couple. Good was good. Had grilled shrimp to start which was good. Main course of grilled chicken breast & chorizo sausage & fries which was also good. Good & attentive wait staff.
