I stumbled upon this place based on another positive review & that person was 100% right! This place is a hidden gem. Their food was delicious & the service is very pleasing. I would definitely visit again to try their waffle QG again or to sample something else. It was enough food to be satisfied but not so much that you're overfull. My only gripe was that the patio has a lot of bugs, but that's the price for sitting outside! There are a lot of other seating options, so we certainly could have moved, but the patio was so charming & the weather is nice. Highly recommend driving the extra distance to try this place out!
Petit café très sympathique. Les sandwiches pour le déjeuner sont de grande qualité, délicieux & nourrissants. Voilà un endroit qui vous changera des oeufs-bacon traditionnels.

Nous sommes allées pour le café. Nous avons pris deux latté glacé, à la première gorgée c'était amer & sûr. Soit le grain est vieux ou soit c'est le café en lui-même. Après 3 gorgées nous l'avons jeté. L'ambiance est bien & la sélection de nourriture est bien. Mais café c'est non.
From the moment I stepped into this café, I could tell that it offered something far beyond a typical coffee shop experience. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, & thoughtfully designed, creating a space that felt both elegant & comfortable. Natural light filled the room beautifully, highlighting the tasteful décor & contributing to a relaxed yet refined ambiance. It is the kind of place where one can enjoy a quiet coffee, meet with friends, or simply take a moment to appreciate a well-crafted meal.
I ordered a salmon bagel with cream cheese, a grilled cheese with olives, an iced latte, & a carré aux dattes, & every item exceeded my expectations.
The salmon bagel was exceptional. The bagel itself had the ideal texture-lightly crisp on the outside while remaining soft & chewy inside. The smoked salmon was remarkably fresh, delicate, & flavorful, with a rich yet balanced taste that never felt overpowering. The cream cheese added a smooth, velvety element that complemented the salmon perfectly. Together, the ingredients created a harmonious combination of flavors & textures that felt both satisfying & refined.
The grilled cheese with olives was equally impressive. The bread was toasted to a beautiful golden brown, providing a delightful crunch with every bite. Inside was a generous amount of perfectly melted cheese that delivered a rich & comforting creaminess. The olives added an unexpected yet highly effective layer of complexity. Their slightly briny & earthy character elevated the sandwich beyond a traditional grilled cheese, creating a balance of flavors that was both comforting & sophisticated.
The iced latte was prepared with equal care & attention. The coffee flavor remained distinct & aromatic, showcasing the quality of the espresso without being hidden behind excessive sweetness. The milk provided a smooth, creamy texture while preserving the coffee's depth & character. The result was a refreshing & remarkably balanced beverage that paired wonderfully with the meal.
To finish, I enjoyed the carré aux dattes, which proved to be the perfect conclusion to the experience. The dessert offered a wonderful contrast of textures, with a tender & naturally sweet date filling surrounded by crumbly layers that added both richness & structure. What I appreciated most was its balance; it was sweet without being overwhelming, allowing the flavor of the dates to truly shine. It felt comforting, homemade, & expertly prepared.
Beyond the quality of the food & beverages, the service deserves special recognition. The staff were welcoming, professional, & genuinely attentive throughout my visit. Every interaction felt sincere & thoughtful. Questions were answered with enthusiasm, & the overall level of hospitality contributed significantly to the positive experience. The team managed to be attentive without ever feeling intrusive, which is a quality that greatly enhances the atmosphere of any establishment.

Every item I ordered was thoughtfully prepared & genuinely delicious, & the service made the experience even more memorable. I left thoroughly impressed & look forward to returning. Stopped there mid afternoon for cortado & cookie!
The clerk didn't know what a cortado was, I explained her! It took 15 mins to receive a cortado which was not one! It was more like a filtered coffee with milk. On a positive side, cookie was fresh & good! They need to teach their barista how a cortado is made & be able to serve their customers more rapidly. The restaurant itself is nice, I will give them another try eventually.
Nous aimons plus que tout flâner dans le Vieux-La Prairie, nous perdre dans ses rues pleines d'histoire & profiter de son charme unique. Mais, inévitablement, une pause s'impose toujours au Quartier Général.
On y retrouve une ambiance familiale, un accueil qui dépasse largement les attentes & ce petit supplément d'âme qui fait toute la différence. Le lieu a une atmosphère unique, chaleureuse, authentique, où l'on se sent bien dès les premières minutes.
Nous y retournerons une fois de plus en septembre… mais cette fois avec une surprise pour toute l'équipe.

Café très chaleureux. Situé dans le beau vieux La Prairie. On a commandé un latté, une salade & une soupe. Tout était frais & bon. Les employées souriantes & gentilles. En plus mon fils a pu jouer avec des jeux sur place! Je recommande fortement ❤?
