Pub Victoria is widely appreciated for its welcoming atmosphere, especially its charming outdoor terrace and rustic courtyard which provide a perfect setting for relaxing with a drink. Visitors consistently highlight the excellent and attentive service provided by the staff, making it a reliable spot for both locals and tourists looking for a comfortable environment. The menu features satisfying comfort food, with the poutine and fish and chips being particularly popular choices among guests. While the location can become lively and occasionally noisy, it remains a highly regarded choice for its reasonable pricing, diverse beer selection, and overall convivial vibe that makes it a go-to destination in the neighborhood.
I was looking for somewhere quiet outdoors with a courtyard to eat with a late meal in walking distance to my hotel - Moxy. This was perfect. The gem was the courtyard. It's a decent sized old stone walled in area, lit with patio lights, well spaced tables & umbrellas. A mix of old & new buildings around you gives it a cool vibe. As a solo female traveller I safe walking in the area.
Prices were good & portions size was also decent. Expect your standard local pub food, my burger was okay taste wise but not a homemade patty & over seasoned with what I think was a Montreal steak spice type blend, fries were a little burnt. The burger did look great with two very large & fresh pieces of tomato, 2 generous pieces of dill pickle & onions. My only advice here would be to make a shift to making more items from scratch, it would easily elevate this pubs food & review scores. Offer a gluten free bun - which most places thaw from frozen for each burger order - may be a way to attract more people. Good selection of beer, & I had the red win from Portugal which was great. Only advice here was to maybe start stocking some seltzers, especially for hot summer days. They had at least 4-5 good selections for zero alcohol drinks. My waiter was a young man who was just the right amount of attentive.
Great spot to grab a bite & have a drink. Service was great. It gets busy soRT plan ahead. We were able to get a table for two. Had the smoked meat poutine. Highly recommend. Fish & Chips is also a solid choice.
No complaints! Came here to drink & have a snack & we got both! Prices were reasonable & food was tasty. Solid spot & definitely the most affordable in the block.
Came for the puzzle pint night, which was really fun! The drinks were good & the staff friendly, but the food was not very good. It came out quickly, but my fish & chips were hard as a rock & tasted like they had been frozen & then fried. The fries were also bland & tasted old. The rest of the group also mentioned their burgers/poutines, etc. were not very good. Nice little pub, but disappointed in the food quality compared to other places in Montreal.
Premium Montreal Old Port pricing with the food quality of a roadside motel where busses used to stop.
A smoked meat sandwich contained low quality, too thinly cut, & dry/stale smoked meat & it came with overcooked fries. When I asked to replace the fries (which has got to be the cheapest thing possible), they tried to convince me to keep the fries -'they're fine, they just were cooked too long'.
The place looks nice though, the terrace is lovely. So have the drinks & skip the food.
