recommend(27) dessert(21) french(21) steak(20) duck(19) dishes(18) beautiful(17) tartare(14) quality(14) drink(12) brunch(12) cocktail(12)We had a reservation at Bouillon Bilk(the great great french restaurent in Montreal) but in the morning they texted us that it went on fire unfortunately, & they offered 3 other similar restaurants that we could call & reserve in stead. We chose Place Carmin: A Nice terrace with cozy table & nice staff. But the meal wasn't exactly what i ordered. I ordered surf & turf , the waitress said it comes with lobster (in stead of shrimps), which it didn't. But that's not all. The suf part(which normally includes (3)grilled shrimps turned out to be teeny tiny tasteless cooked shrimps on a toast with some sauce. They were the size of small macaronis. It was a disappointment. The steak was a 6(out of 10), i couldn't feel the taste of it, cause it was submerged in a green sauce (it was like a plate of soup with a steak in it). But to be fair, the rose wine that the waitress suggested, was very good & matched the meals. & the dessert was ok. However I don't think am gonna go there again though.
Beautiful & stylist place for meat lovers, amazing steaks with different choices of sides dishes & choice of sauce to go with the steak. My favorite are the shrimp cocktails, a steak served with asparagus, bearnaise or pepercorn sauce crispy french fries
Absolutely amazing dishes & delightful experience. Fast & very friendly service. Thank you!
Absolute favourite restaurant in Montreal. Been here numerous times & it never disappoint.
My first time trying Place Carmin, & Place Carmin was a charm indeed: great service (My waiter, during this lunch, a tall gentleman, was really world class), good food, a pretty place. I can't wait to go back & eat & drink at their outside area (that area will be a crowd pleaser,. I can't start to imagine how appealing it can be in summer, especially after 5pm).
Cute place with nice service. I found the food just okay & nothing memorable. Cocktails were not balanced either, I guess stick to wine
This was a fantastic meal, thoroughly enjoyed the steak tartare, duck a lorange, & the mandarin/mint dessert is fabulous! Bravo!
I am usually bot the biggest fan of fancier places but this one was amazingly good. Every dish was excellent, & from someone that doesn't like sweet stuff, the desserts were just amazing. I thing every single one of them was the best version I ever had, I can't recommend the creme brulee enough, best one out of 100s I tried before (same for the paris brest).
I dont actually remember what this is but I like that it has a French name
It was a superb experience having dinner at Pl Carmin. The food, the team, the ambiance - 10 out of 10.
Very nice experience & good food here. We love a lot of dishes here. From starters to main courses we really enjoy them. We really love the scallop ceviche, refreshing. The sweet bread is awesome. Duck orange & the Arctic char (fish dish) were really nice.
What a great place to dine. It's a refreshing experience as a restaurant in Montreal. I have such a great time there. Excited to go back!
Amazing ambience, excellent food & wine pairings, overall great fine dining experience
I hosted my boyfriend's 30th birthday party at Place Carmin & it was a dream! We had dinner for 24 in one of the private rooms - gorgeous room, perfect food, impeccable service. The Place Carmin team goes above & beyond. Special shout outs go to Audrey for event planning & Ben for keeping our party hydrated & happy.
The food is FANTASTIC! & the staff are so lovely; attentive, but not hovering, helpful in making suggestions & genuinely friendly - you can tell how much they like what they do. I had the pasta & it was creamy & delicious. My only quibble is that the wine list skews too heavily toward French wines. We have many amazing wineries across Canada producing beautiful & complex wines that deserve a place at the table.
