Datbihgah. highly recommend! No complaints fair price & good portions, all though the dumplings were a bit too tiny.
Got take out & the food was really nice. We got plenty to eat & had some left over.
The service was really friendly as well.
I felt like a kid again at Pho Long Phung. The XL pho bowl was HUUGE. I found myself returning to my childhood tactics of aiming to finish the meat as I got overly full.
I ordered two amazing dishes: Goi Cuon (Vietnamese Summer Rolls) & Pho Tai Nam Gan. The two detailed reviews are below!!
I don't usually go this deep for reviews but you can tell they love their customers, both from the dishes themselves & from the service & atmosphere. I had to! So here goes:
Goi Cuon
Best Goi Cuon I've ever had! I'm Vietnamese-Canadian, born & raised from Toronto. This is one of those places I'll always remember & hope to come back to even when I move away.
The chefs put chicken & shrimp in the goi cuon (aka summer rolls). The rice paper was perfectly chewy like that homemade feeling. & the peanut sauce!!! 😭 ❤? Creamy, & a perfect base to the house-made chili oil I layered onto my goi cuon.
Best goi cuon EVER!
Also… if you know Vietnamese, the banter between the chefs & servers is a SITCOM! Hilarious.
Pho Tai Nam Bo Vien
I LOVE my beef rare / medium rare - & the chefs were very generous with how much meat they gave. The server served it ASAP so it was all in the perfect state of cookedness. I was able to cook the rest of the meat to my liking w the hot broth!
The layers of soft onion that was thinly sliced was a lovely balance to the fatty meat from the Nam. Really lovely Nam.
& OH MY GOSH the Gan was THE BEST. Platinum level! It was so delicate & clear it was like a treasure I'd find in my bowl. The Gan melted in my mouth. Can you believe that?! This is the only pho restaurant I've found that could achieve this beautiful, rare state of Gan. 🥺 ❤?
The chili sate that is house made was perfect with the broth.
Overall this place really helped me feel at home, & put a smile on my face multiple times in one sitting! My spirit needed it. & so I am deeply grateful.
PS I tried to finish my bowl after writing this review & finding a second stomach. I ate all the noodles… then my spoon sank. GG
Been here once with my daughter & we loved it. Been here lately with daughter & wife & we absolutely loved it! Was even better than the first time. Food is really good & the service is top notch. Mind you this is a very small family owned restaurant. Don't expect a big place with lots of parking space, unfortunately. & OMG the food was tasty! If you love Asian food, you won't regret this one.
Pho Long Phung - 5/5
Great pho restaurant. Was a very nice surprise to find an authentic pho restaurant here. The pho broth was very beefy & delicious. I'm glad they didn't make it too sweet or salty because you can always add hoisin sauce &/or chili sauce to your liking. Their chili oil was very nice as well, actually pretty spicy. & their bean sprout was incredibly fresh.
They are so attentive to us & very caring. The food was good too. I highly recommend
Meilleur restaurant vietnamien en ville & service exceptionnel à chaque fois depuis les 4 années que j'y vais
